The issue is the half truths and erroneous info that gonna cause some one to lock up an engine.
and like octane these oil threads cause bans and other bullshit.

an oil thread should be made as a sticky with all the proper info put in it and every oil thread should be linked to that thread alone, no opinions, no bull.

this is the same with the "Recall vs Service action" issue.

    nevermind, who fucking cares?

And if you are trying to say syn is better, YOU are incorrect and MAJORITY of car builders, hell even motorcycle manufacturers are at 5k or higher for an oil swap.

    Service manuals don’t lie.

Ok, conventional will not run in one of my vehicles,

So, like I said prove it, no links no adds......

If you had been paying attention I said I buy mine in bulk,
I get my oil AND filters for about 40 bucks

That one for this Nissan one for the toy and one for the race bike.

Granted I get my shit for way cheaper... thanks to my contacts back in the day. I can get a case of rock oil for 50 bucks........not available to the masses at that price.

You seem to have an issue with me and I don’t know why, nor do I care..... just strange.......

My former life left me with contacts that most only wish they had.
Just to name one or two....

    Rob Muzzy
    Chuck Graves
    Matt Mladdin

But y’all don’t care, se la vie

I don’t understand why a person who hates oil threads so badly posts more than anyone else does when they pop up....strange.

like everything else, people over think motor oil. you could use Supertech from walmart and not tell any difference from a premium synthetic. your toyota will still run for as long as you have it. most people only keep a vehicle a few years any way, so why waste money if you don't have to?

I think the most important aspect is to keep your oil changed. I've used 5000 mile increments for a long time, mostly with Mobil 1.

I do believe in synthetic but mostly from an experience with a boat a long time ago. I had a 2 cycle Mercury with an oil reservoir in the motor. I was using the merc oil and had a family event coming up so I ran to Walmart to get oil for the day. They were out of dyno oil and being short on time I bought some Pennzoil synthetic.

The oil reservoir was pretty low so I filled it with the synthetic and took off. We are running down the lake with the typical Mercury motor noise and them suddenly the motor went quiet(er). I was startled at first, even stopped so I could try to figure what was wrong. Everything checked out so we took off. The only thing that I could figure was the synthetic oil had reached the motor and it made a difference.

I know that's not real proof but it was my moment for synthetic.

I use the 5000 mile interval for the sole reason it makes it easier to remember to change the oil on the 5k intervals. It's my comfort level.

The main thing is to keep the oil changed.

Another useless post in one of hundreds of oil threads I've read over the years.

Happy 4th to everyone!! Where else can we over discuss oil! :)
