Its a bit pricey though. $7.00 a quart out here, as opposed to $4.60 for Mobil 1. Do you have any test results from a 3rd party? All the web site says is its a "Blend from multiple high performance motor oils....."...Personally, I dont buy into anything that doesnt provide independant testing results, or a break down of what the oil actually is. To add, A guy on Bobistheoilguy pulled a sample and sent it in to Black stone, and the results werent any better than I have seen from M1....

    Further researching into Eneos Oil:

Seems they use G3 base stocks in the oil weights the Tacoma uses. I.e., 5w-30, 5w-20, 0w-30, and 0w-20. Also, a guy reported it made his engine more noisy after he switched to Eneos.

I don't know? You guys are so knowledgeble here, maybe you can find all the facts you need online to prove your point. If price is too high for you, then you can always buy what ever fits your budget. Why don't you guys be more open minded and try Eneos before you bash it. I have not seen any report being worse than any other high end oil. Please prove me wrong!! Some guys say engine sound louder is pretty much heresay. Just like everything on the internet.

I have found info on this oil, and its not any more impressive than any other G3 oil. Clearly not worth the price. If it doesnt do anything better than anyone elses oil, why spend the money?

    Agreed.

While you all seems to agree is not better than other G3 oil, than why bash it as crap. It is used by Honda F1 team. #1 selling oil in Japan. It may be suit you due to higher cost. Than go ahead us Walmart oil, It is great oil for the price and penny pinchers. I also use Walmart oil on some of my vehicles. I just voice my opinion and get nothing but "crap" from your guys. it is just my opinion and you are free to voice your. Just have an open mind. Good thing we are not talking about religion! Coexist!

The stuff that Honda uses is not the same as the 5w-30 or 5w-20 available for the Tacoma, and other autos. In fact, the only "High end" oil they have is the 0w-50 stuff. Nobody is bashing, but you made a ton of posts about this oil, yet provided nothing to back it up? No independant lab tests, idependant reports, nothing. That prompted me to dig deeper, in which I posted what I had found. Also, Oil in other countries has higher standards than in the US. For an oil to be called a "Synthetic", it must be a G4 or G5 base. They only have to be a G3 base in the US to be called a "Synthetic". And at $7.00 + per quart, Why spend that much for an oil that offers no more protection, than a similar oil thats 3 to 4 bucks cheaper?

Please read my post. It is my opinion. I did just that. Never pretend to be experts in oil with lab tests.

    Ok. But, you DID say

By stating "Better protection", we simply wanted to see proof. Or a report from a 3rd party. You dont say "In my opinion I think XXX oil is the best...."

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
Just as a note, as a long standing F1 follower, I don't remember seeing them as a major sponsor. Perhaps it was under its parent company name.
The oil used in F1 engines is not even close to oils used in regular auto's.
The Dutch Shell company "brews" very specific oil and gas for Ferrari F1 cars. Years ago when McLaren was was using Honda powered cars for Aryton Senna, all teams were allowed "qualifying fuel" a very special blended fuel that added over 200hp to the very special qualifying engines, which were good for about 5 laps at full throttle. The fuel in question cost $200 per gallon at that time.
Those engines had over 1000-1100hp in qualifying trim.

I thought the OP just ask what kind of oil people use, Did not realize by stating my opinion. I had to show 3rd party test to jestify my view. Sorry, It is just my opinion. Just like I like DD coffee. No 3rd party test needed for me. Use what ever float your boat. Just change it every 3-5000 miles. It is all the same. ;)

no. use whichever... they're all good. honestly, if you going to sell your truck before 500K miles, it doesn't matter synthetic or not... i know people running their vehicles for 200K miles with non-synthetic and they're still running strong... it does have benefits, don't get me wrong - but the amount of hype on this board about the usually subjective brand slaves is fascinating to watch. that being said, i generally use synthetic, but i realize the reality of it... it's almost like paying for supreme when you don't need it... makes you feel better...

Do you guys mean Dunkin Donut coffee? Its OK, but there are lots of good brands of coffee, especially if you grind the beans yourself.

Well a lot of people will spend more money for Starbucks but D'nD is less money and IMHO tastes better. So opinions are like a holes, every body has one, but I have no studies at this time to back this up. Sorry[IMG]
