Just finished changing my oil. Mobil1 all the way. My oil looked so clean coming out, with no stench of burnt oil or anyhing. Seen race motors under boost that ran it ant the cylinders looked brand new. Thinking about the 0-30 next time.

I used Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 in my 96 for 285000km and had no problems. I'm using Pennzoil Ultra in my 2009. 30000km so far so good.

If your Oil coming out is still clean you are either changing it too soon or its not doing its job of cleaning your engine.

A good synthetic should be good for 8000 to 10000kms

Amsoil, Redline, and Royal Purple are actually the best available to the consumer.

For the v-twin, I run Amsoil (awesome) and would use Redline in my tranny and primary but cannot find it in the NE. For car/truck engines I use M1 EP and they run smooth. When the 4Runner starts to tick I know its time for a change.

Seemed like a good thread for my favorable report. I've owned my 07 for 1 year and switched it from dealer dino every 4 to 5k from dealer (previous owner) at 98k to Amsoil 5w-30 synth. last 3 intervals about 8k each. Blackstone report was good with wear metals typical of a 5k oil change and they indicated should be safe to push interval to 10k.
    WooHoo!:)

I think anything synth is probably fine especially if you're staying at reasonable intervals. A Blackstone analysis is probably a good idea if wanting to run longer between changes. Listening to some of the knowledgeable cats on here makes me think synth is largely hype and truely reliable data and test results are hard to come by with US marketed and sold products.

not to many, love it the way it is

I think the extended drain intervals only work as long as the vehicle is not burning or losing oil in any way. That would then involve topping it off every now and then which seems like a waste of oil imo...

Amsoil in everything. Severe gear 80/90 in manual trans made it shift smoother. Still waiting for mpg #'s

Amsoil! No other oil protects like it, period! Ya I know its expensive and not sold over the counter but doesn't your vehicle deserve the best? I have been using amsoil for over 20 years in my street legal cars and in my roadracing cars, I have never had an issue with oil break down.

Just swapped to Mobil 1 5W-20 and gained 1 extra mpg. Now my average is 25 mpg with the cruise set on 70 mph.:D
