    It's not gonna hurt the truck either way regardless of what type of oil the previous owner used. I've seen enough to convince meto just go synthetic. It protects better and allows you to go longer between oil changes which evens out the costs.

    Good choice and enjoy the truck! You can use Castrol and its cheap. Change it every 5000 and you will be golden.
