hey guys i want some opinions here, i recently bought a 07 tacoma sr5 w/ the 4.0. it just turned over to 80k on it and i am ready for an oil change, i am wanting to put mobile synthetic in it but not sure what its had run it previously. ive heard people talk about higher mileage engines not to run sythetic. just curious to what everybody thinks.
    thanks guys

I wouldnt consider 80k high mileage on a Toyota. I think you would be fine with Synthetic.

PS...if your not sure of the history of thr truck, you may be due to change the oil in your frnt/Rear diffs and transfer case. If LSD get the additive.

re: motor oil-You can easily run synthetic. Just remember after you change to synthetic (if truck was run on conventional motor oil before) be sure to change it again after a few thousand miles (no more than 4 or 5 thousand) and change the filter also. Synthetic after conventional oil seems to clean up the motor quite well and consequently a lot of crap comes up in the oil on the first change. This may have a tendency to clog your filter. Just my Canadian 2 cents.

I totally agree with you that it should def be changed, but hell could I go to the dealership and say sign this paper saying that you guys told me not to flush my tranny and if anything happens to it because of that you owe me? I just don;t understand them telling people that at all.... its $$ in their pocket to do it also, why wouldnt they want to?

I do all my own Maintenance, I just did the did frnt/rear diffs oil, transfer case and spark plugs. I do my own brakes etc, I think by looking at the link you provided, although written very well, scares the bejesus out of me. I just have fear that I wont properly istall one of those lines and possible damage something. It may be worth sending just this one thing to the stealer.

No filter. Just a screen that most feel does not need to be cleaned. However, a few drop the pan to not only clean the screen but also the magnets.
