I was driving down the road going 40 MPH when a lady at an intersection started to drive forward at her red light and ended up t-boning me. The light was still green for me to go through but I don’t understand why she went started moving. The best part is that there was a police officer behind her the whole time and he’s my witness for my case. I’m wondering if anyone can guess how much damage has been done. ( I know pics are bad quality I can get more in the morning)

Kinda hard to tell from the picture but it doesn't look that bad. It's not like it's totaled. Is it just the angle or are the predator steps bent downwards?

Don't blame you for being upset, but no big. A week in the shop (after the new doors arrive) and you'll never know it happened.

I found it was cheaper to buy a whole door from Toyota rather than re-skin the existing door. Much less labor.

Steps are bent inwards and down and rocker panel is all distorted. They took most of the damage though and saved the truck from anything else happening.

Makes me wonder if sliders would help protect a tbone or help bend the frame?

Don’t forget to submit a claim for depreciation.

You'll be fine, repair cost shouldn't be too much of a burden. At least your taco didn't get T-boned as bad as this one..IMG_20171215_190125.jpg

This. Def do this. U will b glad u did even if it’s a small amount. This will b on your Carfax and dealers or buyers could try and mess with your value IF u ever sell it. Again, this is not for pain and suffering etc. this is the insurance righting a wrong that was obviously not your fault. Best of luck bro. Sorry this happened to u.

Do I start this with my claim now, or after all the repairs are done to the truck?

Now. Unless u got your insurance involved it can technically all b solved by hers. U just need to get a copy of the police report and turn it in to them. Contact her company as soon as u can and at least get it rolling if u haven’t already. If u go with your company (which u can), it may go a little quicker but they will have to get the money back from her company either way.

This way u can negotiate with them also. I got into the same type deal and have been rear ended and it was the same both times. USAA even told me I had this option.
