It was so surreal when I removed myself from the wreckage and surveyed the scene. Cops & paramedics were looking at me like how TF did this guy come out of this in one piece. Five days later I was shuffling my walker up to the salvage yard to inventory any personal belongings left in my truck and as I entered the owner asked “Are you the Tacoma?” Yessir. He also just looked at me and said “Miraculous. Miraculous.”

Pretty much a direct side hit. I remember seeing frame by frame as the Charger impacted. Then I was just completely disoriented as the truck was launched in the air and rolled and spun. I’m generally pro law enforcement but the cop wouldn’t even help me get out of my vehicle. When I called for help the response was “FD is on the way”. Well Fuckn A then, I wasn’t about to wait for my vehicle to catch on fire too. When FD arrived (they were quick) the cops told them that they needed the jaws of life to extricate me (but obviously hadn’t thought to check the passenger door)

    Did Pelican honor the warranty?

Hey @J0hnny , congrats on the slow road to recovery. Glad you made it here to tell your story :woot:

Give the post accident stuff time to heal, just let what needs to come out, out . It’s avoidance that’ll make it linger.

I was just T-boned on July 21. Police report still isn’t available, but my wonderful 2016TRD off road, is gone. It’s last deed was to save my life. Mine happened at 1:38 in afternoon. A Tucson blew through a stop sign not even on a cross road. I never saw her coming, I rolled three times, like a pebble in a rock tumbler. I had to be cut out of truck and transported to trauma. Personally I fared pretty good, but insurance doesn’t pay enough to easily afford what is out there on used market. I didn’t accept first amount offered- know that you can do that. I now have offer almost 10% higher - still not enough. So I need some thoughts I understand that 2016 and 2017 are years to avoid. I like the go pro mount, too bad I didn’t have it on my ride home that day- might have had some proofs for attorney. I’m guessing that is what I should do. What tacomas have a go pro mount in windshield.

Initially I was stoked because of their lifetime warranty. Pelican does not, however, cover damages caused by accidents.

Sorry to hear about your accident and I wish you a speedy recovery. Don’t get your hopes up about the police report, mine was 99% redacted.

To be fair, you're not supposed to move trauma victims until proper medical personnel there. Unless the vehicle is literally on fire. Or it's about to get flooded or something.

There's nothing wrong with the 17s. And they don't have the TSS nonsense. Arguably, the 2017 is the year to go for. You could also still get a manual SR if you wanted and you could still get the other trims with Inferno or blazing blue pearl.

I understand this now. Too much liability. In the moment though it felt pretty shitty watching able bodied cops securing a perimeter instead of helping me. Thankfully two locals heard what must’ve been an insane impact and rushed out to help

Lol. I lived there hence the 619. And no I don’t wish to live there. It’s not my cup of tea. Especially the LA area. You don’t own the state lil homito. And my comment wasn’t to insult the people living there, which you seemed to take offense. It’s just how soft they are to criminals. OP stated only two years were given to these fools. If you ain’t mad at that then no wonder you took offense. Peace softie…I mean fuerte.

It's curb paint. That's an image I wish I could forget, sliding upside down with zero control over what came next
