T-SB-0044-14 Feedback: Engine ECM Reprogram [Pinging]

I'd complain about it again, and let them know you'll be speaking with Toyota Regional Service manager if they don't resolve it.

 

Had this preformed at 90k I sometimes still hear it but it’s much much better. Dealer charge $85

 

I thought that a TSB was free ?

 

I’m outside of warranty

 

Thread bump: Trying to get this done in Canada and dealer doesn't know anything about the TSB.

Did anyone end up getting it done successfully in Canada?

Also, they've told me since it's not a warranty TSB, I have to pay $140 for a diagnosis and then pay for the procedure if they determine the ECM is actually the cause, and can figure out the reprograming to do so

 

Where did you get it done? I just came out of the dealer and they said there is not TSB applicable to my car and I still having the same issues .

 

I just came out from the dealer I did not have the option to charge me cause they said my truck does not have that SB

Save your money and don’t do the TSB and put it towards mid grade gas. I had it done and it didn’t do much. I just run mid grade gas all the time.

It’s annoying to have to pay more for gas but it completely eliminates the engine knocking for me.

 

Hey, I believe I have a spark knock. My 2011 2.7 taco will have a rattle sound sometimes between 1500 and 2000 rpm’s. I read about tsb for 2012 and newer years with this issue.
My question is, could any shop fix this with a software flash or do I have to go to the dealer to do this?
