I guess I got lucky. I've had the original transmission TSB and the Rev 1, and each time it was an improvment, to the point I'm completely satisfied with the way the truck drives and shifts. When I asked for a transmission fluid check, my dealer said no problem but you'll need to leave it overnight so we can bring it up to proper temp in the morning to check it. Yep I guess I just got lucky.

Really digging the S4 and S5 in my truck. Wish I tried it 14 months ago. And seems to be no bad effects on mpg.

Driving in S6 is definitely better than "D", way smoother too and I don't notice a difference in MPG either.
Its just a PITA putting it in "S" then clicking up twice every time I put it in gear, but I'll take what I can get.

Doesn't ECT lock out 6th even if you have it in S6?

Nice. I seem to remember you being angry about not having to relearn how to drive an auto trans way back in the dark times . Sometimes it is hard for us (old timers ) to adjust . lol
Another trick is to add just a touch extra gas right before it wants to shift. This seems to keep it in the present gear longer before upshifting. Try it also , it can become a challenge and avoids the being in the higher gears too early.
Kind of like outsmarting the damn AI learning .

I think what you are saying is learn how to drive it after coming to terms with what it's intended to do. Use your foot, and based on your experience, anticipate (and use your foot)? Participate? Learn how to run it? If so, I agree.

Yep ! . By trying it a couple times it becomes clear . It is not like it use to be when one pushes on the gas and leaves it in the same position until one gets to the speed they want to be at. Just add a little a couple times in between ) from 0 to 45 or 65 or ? if that makes sense.
edit , this was a reply to @Searles post 1814

Nope it will pick 6th but takes longer to do so which is great for avoiding gear hunting. Mpg is down a couple but worth it IMO.

Does the truck shift on it's own in sports mode?

What did you have to do/say for them to give you the extended warranty?

Have had Rev 1 for 1k miles now. It fixed cruise control and make the truck tolerable on the freeway again. Average about 17 mpg going 75 and about 19 city driving. Mpg went up during the learning phase but then slightly dropped after.

I am happy with the fix and enjoy driving this truck. Maybe that's because it's my first truck so I don't have the ol glory days to compare it to.

Got Rev 1 applied today and so far it seems to be a noticeable improvement. Had the original TSB applied back in November and it was an improvement as well. MPG seems to have stayed about the same (average 22-23 highway and 17-18 city) but it hasn't been long enough to make a proper judgement yet. Pretty happy with the results.

I might have missed it but is there a way to tell which calibration is on your truck other than hooking it up to TechStream? No sticker but dealer said it was done.

My Autel A319 reads the calibration version...I paid $25 for it. Most OBD2 readers should give this info.
