If it was installed after 11/30/16 then you have the newest version. They only install the current version. You can look on line at toyota.com when you login to view your truck records it will show when it was updated.

Finally got to see how this update effects highway driving with cruise control. Drove from NC to Ft Lauderdale 2 days ago. Definitely a big improvement, especially while still in NC and the terrain was hilly. Driving in the very heavy traffic here in Ft Lauderdale is a different story. I'm not used to such heavy traffic, I feel the truck is reluctant to downshift when needed to keep up with traffic. Finding myself reaching for the ECT button again. Will see how it does on the return trip.

I wonder if any of the issues are plant related. Meaning if any of the issues this truck has INCLUDING all TSBs. Maybe someone should take a tally of where their truck was built ie: Mexico or US Built. Maybe one has more issues than the other?? Just a thought...

I took my TRD(2017 Sport) in for a 6 month checkup. When I made the appointment over the phone I was informed that there was a TSB for the Transmission MCU out. So when I got there they told me I was going to get the software update and that they were going to change the transmission fluid out also. I asked why. They said that Toyota had informed them that some vehicles had left the factory low on fluid. So I asked. You going to check and add some? The answer was no because there is no dipstick. They would drain it and then refill it with the exact right amount. All of this initiated by the dealer. So I have to assume they did what they said. But the second reason for bringing the truck in was the low speed shutter problem. Been in three times for same problem. No fix yet. Since then put a ToyTec 3" lift in(adjustable shocks up front, add a leaf in the back and new longer shocks in the back) and the shudder problem is no different. Dealer says bring it in, pre-existing problem they will fix it.(If they can.) Have not scheduled the return visit yet.

That's a good way of not giving away any more extended warranties. Toyota has been paying for fluid checks anyway, might as well just have it changed and eliminate evidence of it being low.

took my truck in today for it'd 20k service and oil change and also got the TSB performed. and wow I can definitely notice the difference, I had the first TSB performed before and didn't rush into getting this TSB since I didn't think the difference was going to be much but I'm glad I got it, the engine feels snappier in the streets haven't drove it much in the highway yet but definitely noticed a difference when driving from 0 to 35 in the streets, a lot less sluggish.

05: Big Tires, Big Black Wheels, Leveled and raised a couple inches, Extra leaf in the back 16: Stock. For now.
Took my truck in yesterday for the transmission update, and specifically asked for them to check the transmission fluid. When I picked it up, I was told that checking the transmission fluid is part of the diagnosis procedure before updating the transmission's firmware. Is this true? I'm still getting a rough downshift from 2nd to 1st, and I'm thinking they never checked the fluid.

If they didn't let your truck cool off overnight then it probably was not checked.

I finally decided to have another update to the T-SB-0077-16 performed on my 2016 as I have waffled for months reading all the reviews here . I had the first one when it came out. I never had any problems with the trans except it would not up shift after cresting a hill or use 6th gear over 65 mph for more than a second ot two. I have said from the beginning , I got a good one. The first T-SB corrected the upshift at a crest , but it could not use 6th gear over at 65 mph and over . CC also seemed to shift a lot more than it should have with the slightest breeze or incline going from 6th to 5th to locked up torque converter and back while in D .
I had what is printed out on my paperwork last week as " newest shift enhancement software " .
My 45 mile drive home from the dealer is very hilly , the type of hills that really need 4th gear or 1 to 1x the 3:91 rearend , and have slow truck lanes for semis on the upsides . I used S5 and it seemed a little better , this is what most of northern AR. and southern MO. are like.
Yesterday I put it to the test and went for a 522 mile round trip test ride (casinos in Oklahoma at the far point )to try it out with highway speed limits from 60 to 75 mph. Still very little flat roads as it is mostly rolling hills in Northern Arkansas and southern Missouri .
Report on the trip in my opinion was pretty good . The truck in D , could hold 6th gear at 65,thru 80 mph with headwind of 10 mph getting 19 mpg. It would downshift to 5th on some inclines but when it did I expected it to due to the steepness of the incline . It had to be really steep to have to go to 4th gear , even in CC . ( it shifted even less if I drove without CC and let it loose 1 or 2 mph.)
On the way back with a side to tail wind that blew the truck to the side when gusts hit , mpg was 20 mpg +, driving 80 and jumped up to 22+ when doing 65 mph.
I have a scangage II and it is much more precise as to mpg real time if can be believed .

Note this is all with 87 octane top tier winter blend gas with a TRD off road long box with a fiberglass shell all stock . BEFORE the latest update I could never hold 6th gear for more than a second or 2 above 65 mph and mpg was closer to 17 above 70 mph.. From gas station to gas station was 522 miles , and I used 26.6 gallons . This comes out to 19.62 mpg. for the trip.

Trip at 75 to 80 mph aprox 70 miles
    65 to 70 - 300 miles
    60 to 65 - 150 miles
    35 to 50 - 2 miles
In my opinion , anyone wondering if they should get the "latest enhancement " should do it if you have problems.

Are you sure? My owner's manual says I have a 21.1 gallon tank. Page 570.

Could yours have a larger capacity tank? I only get about 440 highway miles, can't remember the mpg though. It was around 20ish on that particular trip.

I love my K&N. Just takes a little while to get used to the noise. I bought Mamba wheels when they were on sale for $119 each. 17 x 8 plus 10. RWD with no lift. Only wish I found something in either 17 x 8.5 or 18 x 8.5 still in plus 10. Great offset for stock suspension with never any rub issues. What I love the most is that my wheels always look clean. No matter the weather they just stay clean. Not wide enough IMO but maybe next will be the 18's with 285/60 that will also clear in a plus 10 wheel.

Check VIN Codes to determine if it applies. Lists them on the Rev1 TSB
