In your opinion, is buying a steel bumper a good investment? I do some off-roading here and there. Mainly I want to buy a bumper because I bought a winch and need to mount it onto the truck somehow. My choice is between the lo-pro bumper c4 fabrication offers or the cbi full bumper. Anybody got any feedback on this?

Why not the C4 full bumper?
No trimming except the fender flares...
    Also super badass looking.

I find the full bumpers like the CBI without the hoops look out of place on the Taco.

The low pro bumper is nice if you want to keep stock look and very little cutting and less weight than a full bumper.

A couple weeks ago I put on a Warn hidden winch bumper with Smittybilt winch, no cutting, works perfect, added maybe 150 lbs total.

I didn’t even know c4 made full bumpers for the Tacoma. Got any pictures of them?

You see, I like the way they look, but if I go off-roading and mess up my bumper around the c4 bumper. I’ll still have to in the end but a full bumper so idk, I’m stuck debating what to do...

I love the look of their full bumper even without hoops.

Great investment if you want to add a winch or lighting but it's not necessarily the first thing I'd do otherwise. My order of operations is generally IFS skid > sliders > other skids > rear bumper > front bumper when it comes to armor.

Also, keep in mind that all the weight on your bumper is supported by the front suspension and it will impact handling negatively.

Personally, I'm going aluminum because my build sheet is telling me my truck is going to be fat in trail trim and I'm not a fan of sticking 200+ lbs. out in front of the truck.

I just find the full bumpers where part of the stock bumper remains looks weird without the hoops.
The ones that replace the whole thing look like they belong on there.
At least on 3rd gens anyways...

    Lots of sail boat fuel
I'm weighing the same issue right now. I'm all but sure I'll be going with a T3. My reason is straight forward. I'll feel like a dope if I spend all that money on a front end, and then hit something on the corner of my bunper, and still need a new bumper.

So I'll go with the T3 and have the whole front end better off.

That’s exactly my mentality on the bumper too. Just pay the extra money and get a fill sized bumper. I live the way the T3 look so I’ll probably get that one.
