I had Fox 2.5, as well as these King 2.5, and if I did it all over again I'd go ADS 2.5

Unless you just have money to blow and want to buy stuff that don't fit just because

I didn't read any of that, just the title and saw the pic

I would just set that money aside and buy ADS all at once

I'm always in the clouds, I'm 17 lol. The ad says oboe, I'm going to try and negotiate to 1500. Either way I will sell the rears, I have buddies with 3rd gen t4rs that'll gladly buy em. I'm not expecting full retail price, just something keep me above 1k in savings. I will then find used or buy new rears, and go from there. This truck will be LT... eventually, so they will get sold anyway. That being said, anyone selling king front and rears for under 2k?

Isn't a 4runner on coil springs in all 4 corners? Tacos have leaf packs.

that's gonna be hella work to do a conversion lol

unless you already have a guarantee from someone that you can sell the rears at cost or for a profit, I wouldn't bother with that hassle. Just save the money and buy rears for your own truck

Lol that's one direction to go with it.

If your goal is buying the mods while maintaining some savings though, i'd focus on buying direct bolt-ons, lightly used

Hey if you can find a way to fund it without crippling debt, why not!

My truck is way overbuilt simply because I could, not because I needed to lol. If I could go back I'd hold off on a bunch of the mods I did but here we are.

    What are you talking about?

The front are the same, the top hats are just clocked differently so one needs to run a rod through the bottom eyelet while the top is attached, and turn it.

It's just the rears that don't work and I already explained why.

Why even shell out the cash for these if your end game is long travel. Buy once cry once. Save up for what you want. That's my advice. To each their own...

Definitely understand, I was there not long ago. That being said, unless you're in a better spot than I was of course, I wouldn't go for it. You can find way cheaper and have them rebuilt to new if you're patient.

what you should be looking for is a complete, used LT kit, unless you're planning on putting a front diff in.

    Ah makes sense.

If you're going LT I wouldn't waste money on long travel then.

Okay. Maybe not this truck specifically. It has 400k miles and was totalled in the front. It has significant frame damage bc of it. I'm also about 6 months from shipping out for BMT, and I won't be seeing it for a while. It's also my daily and gets bad enough gas mileage. I plan on buying another 1st gen and then going LT I think. It's also still technically my grandpa's truck, and I think he'd prefer something simpler than LT. I also just like new things bc I'm 17 lol. I have the money for them, and I make between 750 to 1k every paycheck. Not a lot, but once again, I'm 17.

Realistically how much and how long would it take to make the 4runner rears work, or is it more effective to just sell em and buy tacoma ones?

It makes no sense to custom fab a shock mount setup for a stem top with less than 9" of travel

It is a waste of time and money

It's settled then. I will negotiate them to a lower price, sell the rears, and buy tacoma ones. Like I said, 2 more paychecks and we're good. Thank you all, and if you ld like to add anything else, please do so

    Jus to give an idea

I bought a fulll set of icons and had them rebuilt for under 1k

then other first Gen I bought a front set of kings for 400 and ran them till they were destroyed and sold them for 400 (sorry tour).
    There's better deal

The logic of buying something you can't use, for a price that isn't way below market, and then thinking you're going to sell for above market...
