Do they really? I've been liking them for most of what I do. The "mud" I got into was a worn out fire road so it was pretty gravelly but they did great.

Are you talking that moon-dust mud after "monsoons" in AZ? I'm not sure any non-mud tire would do well in that.

I'm convinced all those that love them have never had anything besides them lol.

Best AT tire I've ever had was the ST Maxx, but that was on a trail only Jeep I had.
For daily driving Duratracs were my favourite when I daily'd the jeep.
Hated the KO2s with an absolute fucking passion. Only thing worse than a KO2 is the KO.
Only BFG tire I've ever liked was the G Force KDW which I had on my WRX. Even then it was a noisy tire, but the traction and performance was amazing.

all the jeep guys here in Ontario love the Duratracs.

Plus they make them in a D rated as a 285 70 17, so if I end up going that size I'll be going with duratracs for sure.

I've had Michelin at2, Firestone at, duratracs, general grabber at2, and Cooper atw. Duratracs are not a mud tire, they still get clogged up and turn to slicks in heavy mud. They have slightly more tread spacing than ko2s so maybe they work marginally better but not much.

My duratracs had the sidewalls get all gashed up. No punctures but a bunch of gashed though the rubber to the steel belts. Haven't had that issue with ko2s. Duratracs also got really loud, ko2s have been quiet.

Off-road in the conditions we typically see here( large boulder fields, granite ledges, slippery leaves and sand, occasional mud) I guess they're comparable to each other. I'd still trust the ko2s sidewall to protect against all the cutoff stumps and sharp rocks encountered.

Duratracs have an edge in the winter initially, but they don't have full depth siping so 2/3 of the way through their life they become useless in the winter.

    Just my 0.02

Can I install 265/75/16 on the TRD OR w/o any fender interference? It would be a 1" taller tire meaning 1/2" closer to inner fender. The stock tire is 265/70/16. I realize speedometer error will exist. Is there anything wrong going with a tire that is 1" taller? How about a wider tire? 275 the limit?

I agree with the side wall idea. But that's the difference of a e rated and c rated.
Like I said regardless of what off roading I was doing. The Cooper's were my favorite

I've never bought a tire for aesthetics or because it was cool.

Either will work. It's very hard to put tires in the exact same conditions to really objectively evaluate them. They are both all terrains and will perform as such. The difference is negligable.

I'd go with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I switched to them from the ko2s and haven't looked back. Great performing and looking tire. Can't go wrong with either really

What I said can be applied to tires. Subjectives aesthetics and "I like" and "cool" factor is 100% legitimate reasons. Its not like KO2s are bad tires or they will explode and kill you if you use them. Some people just like them because they look aggressive. Are they the best "offroad" tires? Maybe not. But does anyone ALWAYS buy everything top of the line? Not necessarily because there are a lot more variables than "the best". Sue them...

If they are anything like the Terra Grapplers my mileage on a heavy Ram 2500 was horrendous and a little better on my buddies jeep. Probably a weight thing. Hopefully this issue was resolved.
