I had a service manager in the truck watching it while it happened and he said he didnt see a problem. Just goes to show the quality of their work. For other reasons i will not take my truck to that dealership to even check tire pressures let alone a major job. They aligned my truck twice and failed to notice a tie rod was loose.

This happened the other day as well. Not gonna even bother asking about it.

Is that the Transmission acting up by constantly up and down shifting or is that Tach Needle just going nuts?

I was pushing the gas more to get it to drop a gear so i could see the movement of the needle.

Dropped my truck off at Toyota of Whittier this morning. They said it will be inspected and the whole gauge will be ordered and replaced. Sent me out with a 2017 Nissan Frontier as my rental.

Just got my truck back yesterday after 27 days. 3 more days and I could file an official lemon law claim. Took the dealership that long as Toyota took their time in sending me a cluster gauge. $980 in rental charge that Toyota covered for a $375 part. I noticed that the replacement gauge needles now has smooth movement and not in increments as before.

I have the same problem but on the speedometer. When i reported it, Toyota of Richardson could not possibly care less. Therefore, I will just leave the problem as is since it's a lease. Let the next owner deal with it.

And mine sticks when it's hot.

Yep, mine was sticking when it was hot out as well but I did notice that the needles moved in increments before it actually got stuck. Just thought it was normal before it got stuck.

Bringing mine in for the third cluster in a couple weeks when I hit 10 k. I've been having the issue since day one. And have had a great service advisor.... actually had the regional engineer come in to look at it. On this third cluster they said they are having to re engineer a part in It to send the proper signal to the tachometer. I'm not convinced it will fix it. Truck only does it when you it's been cold in the morning then hot in the afternoon. I think it may have something to do with an evaporation pump or perging system??? No idea. All I know is that it only does it after that loud air release noise happens. It's the only consistency I can find with the problem.will definitely keep everyone updated....and PLEASE do the same!

I was in a rental for 27 days. My SR was at 2,819 miles. I returned the rental with 2,900 miles. It was a$981 rental bill to Toyota for a $375 part.

They must have taken your combo meter and studied it?

Who knows. One of Toyota's headquarters is only a 20 min drive though. I do know the regional guys drove down to inspect my 2nd gen DRL lights, leaf springs before there was a TSB, and injection pump when I had those issues so it's not a stretch for them to come down and inspect the gauges.
