got some tach issues on my 84. I dont really need the tach but it drives me nuts that it doesn't work properly...

here is what is happening. At start up the the tach jumps back and forth from 3000-7000. After about a minute the tach needle buries itself over 8000 and just stays there. Any ideas?

    thanks

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
The tach gets it's signal from the ignition coil. There should be one wire. Check the connection is tight and there is no corrosion on the connectors. If that's ok then I would say the tach is bad. I will check mine out tonight.

It's a combination meter so you would have to replace the whole thing should the tach be bad.

Now for my troubles, please send one (1) driverside front fender. I will cover the shippin cost to 16822. :D
