That's right. I have no Tacoma but am working on it. I'm after a 6MT, preferably in Access Cab. From what I can determine, I'm out of luck for a 2023 AC 6MT, but the TUSA configurator allows for a 2022 provided I start with "Grade" TRD Sport. I guess availability and dealer markup are the big barriers right now.

The goal is over-snow and light overlanding capability in a truck that can be driven daily. It needs to be friendly enough to accommodate my wife and will serve as a rolling radio platform. We both only drive stick and want to be able to get out on 2m/440 + standalone APRS and probably 6m or a deployable corkscrew for HF. We would like at least 10 years of ownership.

I don't plan on internal engine mods, but I would like a stainless exhaust. Also I would like a bit more clearance. So I'd be curious to hear opinions on the TRD Exhaust and TRD Lift Kit. Better to go aftermarket on either?

Regarding other accessories, it would be helpful to hear opinions on factory/dealer items versus aftermarket for a step and a bed step (for my wife).

Per the build website…. 2023 TRD Sport appears to be offered in a 6MT. I have requested one from my local dealer. Why do you think you are out of luck?

I'm sure its just not available for your zip code. If you rely on Toyotas configurator and the dealer to get the truck you want, you are going to be waiting twice as long as if you just get on the internet and phone and start calling around for what you want. I have seen more than one person wait months for a truck that is sitting on the lot in a town one zip code over just because the dealer "has it on order"for them...lol

Definitely don’t rely on your local dealer, do a nationwide search and fly there if necessary. I was looking for my truck and started at $5,000 over MSRP at one dealer and ended up with $3,000 under at the dealer I bought from. $8,000 buys lots of accessories, tires, wheels, gas.

I don't think there is anything official yet, however when the new gen comes out in I just can't see a manual option being offered.

Like auctioneers say "buy em' when you find em' ".

I said 2020 was the last year for manual and was wrong.

Somehow manufacturers keep convincing the laws that be, that manual drivers are emitting the same emissions as an auto still.

I drive an idiot and downshift way too often, but I think with manuals they are concerned about lugging and the cats staying cool.

I am looking nationwide. Too bad no one is keeping track via a db or even just a table keeping track of dealer mark-ups nationwide. That would be an enormously handy tool for prospective buyers.

    JOIN US!

In the US the MT AC is only in the Sport trim, in Canada the MT AC is only in the OR trim. As others have said, the newgen MT is probably caput - best of luck finding one, if you are picky on colors, they can be hardddd to get as there aren’t a lot made, so keep an eye on the (gently) used market as well. After many many months waiting for a new one in not gray/white/black, I ended up going used - and glad I did!

The link sent by @tonered is a great resource.

I guess I can mark off the dealer who just told me there are no AC 6MTs in the country.

Yeah. It is on the buyer to come in armed with the knowledge, esp with the known ulterior motives that dealers have. Even folks who I consider pretty good at sales do not seem to know as much as they should. At the same point, buyers don't know everything either.

If Toyota kills the manual after killing both the V8 and V6. I think everyone who wants a manual needs to buy one right now and go to Nissan if you want a V6 still.
