So heres my front end taco clank, more of a smash to the frame. 5100/887 + top plate spacers.
Only happened a few times and never on speed bumps, it absorbs those nicely and bounces back, doesnt bang. Only happens on quick incline drops/ potholes, not even that big. This is the little drop it banged off of to give you reference. If it happened every day id be more concerned. and this is how it sounds lol
    https://youtu.be/BgO6UJu9m4o
And it didnt contact the bump stops. I put a bunch of chalk on it. No contact or rub marks on sway bar or coils. Makes me think its a quick over extension bang, or quick fully collapsed bang. I dont know. Rides awesome 99.999 percent of the time

I have not heard that sound before, but it doesn't sound good. I will tag you in another thread.
Edit... could it be body mounts?

No clue lol 3rd gen 5100's but I do know Ive drooped further from bouncing off speed bumps with no bang at all. Seems it only bangs at sudden drops/holes

    No dont think its that

Not sure about the clang/bang but it appears you have a busted CV boot.

It's the shock at full drop . My truck would do the same thing with 5100's and 885's . Go over a speed bump slow it won't do it . Keep going over it increasing the speed each time till it does it. Once you go faster than the shock can hnhandit it it will clank.
The shock is hitting the internal length limiter. With 887"s and top plate spacer the shock doesn't have enough down travel before it is fully extended.

The bang in the video was the passanger wheel going over it by itself. Where the 1/4" spacer is. So wouldnt anyone running the 1/4" spacer for taco lean get this bang?

The only thing that would help is giving the shock more down travel . ( Remove top plate spacer or get some weight up front "bumper n winch"). If you are looking for bump stops in the future. I tested these and they are great. https://www.toyotabumpstops.com/
Local guy and he knows his stuff.

Your spacer for taco lean should be on the driver side . Driver side has the battery driver and gas tank on it. The driver side is usually the lowest and that is where the spacer should go to raise it . If you have the spacer on the passenger side than you really are leany and adding a lot of non needed lift to that side.

So I guess it's not axel wrap ? Just seems in that picture that it wasn't enough drop to be the shocks.

5100"s front extended length is 22.5. Measure eye to top and see what you have. If you have 21 inches than that's only 1.5 inches of down travel .

I shur would be but i added a 1/2" to the driver side. Sits even. I did it just to bring up the front a bit to match dakars.. should prolly dich the one n swap them.
So ultimately im maxing both sides out doing this. Makes sense
