    Yeah I would run it to running lights personally if I were him. That way they turn on at night when you turn lights on. However if he wants them switched I don't see the point of going to the running lights.

    Oh true.. I saw a vid of a guy that tapped them into his dome lights and had them on a switch. So every time he unlocked the truck they would come on lighting up the area around it. Just another thought

    Indeed. One Time when I was a dumb 16 yr old. I wired up cheap harbor freight "off road" lights directly to my battery with no fuse. The switch went haywire one day and all my wires to it melted. Scary stuff I tell ya haha
