I remember when the Chevette was coming out, I was so hoping for a small 4cyl turbo charged "baby" vette. Oops, I was so disappointed.

I once owned a 'vette like that and I can testify that it was certainly disappointing.

I understand he's quite a big deal. He has many leather bound books and his place smells of rich mahogany.....

I just feel that integrity suffers, and when one thing goes out of wack, the whole thing will be fooked. It's just a tailgate.

Granted, there are always chances like that with more moving parts, but we all said that about electric windows too.

Years ago I bought a purple ‘75 Pontiac Astre for $175 that was sitting on a little old lady’s front lawn. I added a front chin spoiler and rear spoiler. I opened up the ash tray and found the original dealer key tag. Great car if you like adding oil every few miles and was one of my favs until the tree fell on it :bananadead: I’ll see if I can find a pic for the car porn thread

There’s nothing wrong with the engine smh. Re gear and you will know what I’m talking about. Toyota engineers got the gearing wrong that’s all. The engine is completely fine

    Yep. I laughed then too.

But those Vega bodies would have been nice on Tacoma frames. Or just a rotting mess.:rofl:

"Ranking" new cars by gadgets, features, creature comforts, and minor MPG/handling/driveability nuances is for brain dead consumer idiots who couldn't critically think their way out of an unlocked barn. One of those manufacturers has a reputation for making simple, well engineered trucks that have a 40+ year reputation for 300,000 mile+ trust-your-life-to-it dependability. Others have a reputation for scratching and clawing to out-gadget and out-market each other with garbage finished products intended to look good and impress people who don't know any better on a dealer's lot and be traded in for pennies on the dollar 30,000 miles later.

True dat, have you ever listened to women talk to each other about cars at the dealership. I have overheard many times when buying something, waiting around and listen to them talk about features.

Oh, it has so many nice cup holders.
Oh, it doesn't have a light on the driver's side so I can put makeup on.
I can reach my child in the back seat.
    My seat does not warm.
    My seat does not cool.
My navigation does not have a nice voice.

I like it if it's an option I can decline and save a couple thousand bucks or whatever it's worth to them. It's cool but so unnecessary to anyone who can climb in a pickup bed without a step stool.

True, it should be an option, as that does cost a lot to pay for that patent.

Sure. All these pundits review a truck that is brand new and has like 2,000 miles or less. Buy what you want if you're going to keep it just 3 years. Hell, never change the oil. How about someone take a 5-10 year old truck and comparing them side by side. Let's see what broke. That's what should be reviewed and what a vehicle should be judged for.
