Taco down :(

Well, i lost my red 2016 SR last monday... It was a fully loaded diesel truck that got her (well, it got an suv, which instantaneously hit me). Only had just shy of 14k on it. I guess I'll keep my name (in memory) although i bought a black TRD sport to replace her. Just a baby, she only saw the beach once.... stay safe out there guys and gals.

Sorry to hear about the loss OP. I also lost my BBP Taco but I left the truck world to rejoin the 4Runner family.

 

thank goodness her sacrifice kept you safe. May the new taco serve you well an pay homage to ol red by MODDING ALL THE THINGS!!!!! Make a street legal tank/taco hybrid.

 

Hope this works... heres a pic. The bed also hit the cab on the passenger side and did some damage. "Not minor" (per the insurance guy) frame damage.... thanks for the kind words everyone.... it could have been worse for sure.

 

Feel the pain... they totaled mine too... rear frame total loss.

 

Man glad you're ok too. They wouldn't even sell mine back to me had to just give her up to get the check, and i needed another truck to get back to work. I hope you get her all fixed up! Maybe a decent excuse to upgrade some things??

 

I didn't even try to buy it back. I fought with insurance and ended up having them come up to a value that I felt was fair for vehicle with all the mods I had on it. I could drive it but they totaled it.

I'm happy you walked away from the accident... I didn't have any pain directly after the accident but it looks like you were hit harder than I was. I was impressed with how well they took the hit.... then upset with how soft the frame apparently is.

Yeah im still sore. But its not my first rodeo. Im pretty much totally fine though, so im happy. I pick up my truck today....was supposed to be "early afternoon". .. its coming down from Dallas and i will post pics!

 

Awesome, good for you. Did you go the carmax route since its shipping?

 

It was actually through kia. Ive bought a couple cars for my old lady with them, and they are great there.

 

I bought my 4Runner through Nissan, similar story!
