Sad sad day for me. Rear ended at a stop light by a driver going 45+. The car went underneath me.

Yeah, you are now truck shopping.

Back and neck injuries from being rear ended often get worst over the next several weeks. Do not release the insurance company for a few weeks or until no more pain and discomfort. Sorry about your truck.

This^^^^. Great advice. Glad you are OK OP.

My brother and ex-wife got t-boned by a F-350 pulling a 38' horse trailer in a Subaru shitbox. I was impressed at how said shitbox held up.

His ex-wife settled right away since she needed the money. My brother did not. He developed some pretty nasty headaches and it took 2 years to get him right with PT and massage therapy. His ex developed some issues but was screwed since she signed away liability.

I feel like a lot of car accident lawsuit PT’s are bullshit
As in they work with sleazy ambulance chasing attorneys to get themselves paid (both the PT and attorney) and then just have you fuck off in the corner laying on the automatic rolly table a few times a week for however long then slap you on the back and call it good

whoever is injured hopefully they actually end up with a good PT, chiro, etc

OP I wonder if there is any way to salvage the truck. Like what if you buy it back for cheap. Swap a frame. Pull the frame straight. Put a Ute tray on the back. Something like that.
Just so you still have something to drive in the meantime until car prices die down (if they ever will)
But only if it makes sense to you. Who knows maybe the frame is really messed up and not worth continuing with.

or chopping the back off to link it. With the cab hit like that it turns into more of a trail truck than dealer lot princess, which is not always bad

hopefully the check covers it. Maybe it’ll be simpler to just buy another of whatever you want

Im definitely going to try to buy back if they don’t ask too much for it. I have too much in it to just let it go.

    Sorry to see that.
Hopefully everyone recovers and you can find a new truck at a reasonable cost.

Definitely lawyer up. One reason I constantly look in the mirror at stop lights, hoping if I see it coming maybe I can get out of the way or hold on. Been more than once had I not bailed into the turn lane or off the road I may have been creamed.
