Glad to hear Toyota has worked with some of y'all in the past! I'm getting it towed to the dealership tomorrow and will keep y'all posted on progress. If it's blown and they don't cover it I'll be pretty bummed with Toyota, but we will see.. Thanks!

I noticed a few people on here that really hate the 3.5 for some reason and constantly comment about it in threads like this. I don’t get it.

And gets better MPGs. It’s just like 1st genners were hating on 2nd gen when it came out. Now it’s the same thing but with 2nd genners shitting on 3rd gens. All in all, all gen Tacoma’s will be reliable except for some lemons of course.

Did Toyota not help you when your 3.5L blew at 62K miles? Did you every find out “why” it blew?

Wow that blows! Don’t let them give you the “sorry your warranty ran out yesterday” crap. If it’s serious, I would think about involving a lawyer if Toyota doesn’t step up.

Did he run it out of oil? Did he fill the engine full of water crossing a stream? Toyota engines should not suffer catastrophic failure at 60K - 65K miles.

If you do off camber climbing, I think the 35 degrees or more, the pcv valve sucks oil into the intake causing hydro locking. You can use a catch can to mitigate this issue but if you spend to much time at a bad angle it will fill and you will hydrolock.
