My 1972 Chevy Cheyenne 2500 has no wobble or shake (other than the 350 rumble, lol)

It does have a loud rear end, but that may be because it's a 5.13 Eaton rear axle.

Put a new steering box on it, drives almost as nice as a new truck!

Yeah someone mentioned Ford and we all chimed in and now this is a Ford and Chevy forum. Maybe it's time to lock this one down! Mods?

Had tacomas long before you were on this forum (1st and 2nd gen) The only reason I don't have one now is the size of my family.
No need to be like that. This is a forum for enthusiasts, I still love tacos so I still sign on to see what's going on in taco world

OP, ask yourself would you rather a heavily used Ford F150 or a new Tacoma, ultimately its up to you but an F150 is completely different from a tacoma. Its a full size you cant compare it

Exactly can't compare midsize to fullsize ever. Each have their own merits

Well he will miss a few things and enjoy a few things. Off road goes to the taco all day. Couch like comfort fullsize. Pretty much same fuel economy on the full size as my 2nd gen.

    Or I haven't

I test drove it with new wheels/tires on it. It had some worn KO2s on, so they swapped it out so I could drive it without the worn knobby tires making noise.

It had some wonky transmission issue. I felt it on my first drive, but my second, with the new tires, confirmed it. It felt like a slipping clutch; like a rookie stick driver that's not giving enough gas but not stalling. I also felt the slipping from 1-2 gear.

So, I'm in my taco still. This particular truck wasn't the replacement truck for me.

Not to mention the math probably wasn't going to work out unless I got them down much further. For those that recommended buying newer:I cant justify putting that much money into an asset that's losing value as quickly as a Ford truck. The older models depreciation curve has flattened out a bit which makes it slightly more palatable of a proposition.the Tacoma, for all it's problems, still has an unreasonably good depreciation rate.

I really liked the F150s I drove. I'll keep looking around.

Sorry to disappoint! Thanks for the great advice and feedback.

Of the 20+ vehicles I've owned over my lifetime, foreign and domestic, my G2 Tacoma was far and away the most dependable and least problematic vehicle I've ever owned.

They don't depreciate as much as you'd think bro, I got my 15 with 14k on it at the time for 6.5k more then what they were asking for an older truck with much higher miles (the one you were looking at). I went with a newer one because of how little of a difference there was between older more used ones and mine. Just food for thought, GL with finding a truck you like dude!!

Thanks bro, some people just are dicks. I've always had a taco and I'll be back once I don't have my entire backseat filled with rear facing car seats. This time in a pro I hope

Yea and it might have been as simple as a flush, but I didn't want to deal with it being something else.
