Hallelujah, I finally got it to work. I took a shitload of photos and will put together an overview of my t-harness mod. Now, if I can just get the wiring on my fog light switch set, then, I'll be done with the headaches. Anyone know if red or white with the black stripe goes to the ecu and which goes to ground? It's the factory wiring for the auto headlights on a 3rd gen. Actually, from the extra wiring harness I have, I noticed it's also the same 4 wires for the other short style switch in the dash (ect pwr).

I've attached two pdf's. Both of these show the Wht/Blk wire connecting to ground. The "Fog Lights" pdf also indicates a Red wire connecting to the Main Body ECU. This is the Fog Light wiring that you're asking about, correct?

I'm using it for fog lights, but that switch doesn't actually exist. The wiring in question is for the auto high beams. I stole the housing connector from my spare harness.

Is it necessary to run the power and ground wires from the camera to the head unit? I got the germes installed but didn't have time to play with the front camera.

Which camera do you have? The Natika cam you don't need to connect the red/blk pair. Just need to connect the camera's "trigger" wire at the CS unit. The ground is picked up through the video (RCA connector) signal ground.

Here's another pdf. There's also headlight stuff in the "12.pdf" file that I attached earlier. In any case, it seems that the Wht/Blk wire seems to be consistently used as ground.

I think you may have indicated once in prior discussions that you "weren't real good with schematics". Or I may have you confused with someone else. The other jpg I attached is the schematic symbol for a ground connection.

Trigger wire? So that's what the positive wire is for on the RCA?

The wire shown as "B (Trigger Wire)" will send 12vdc to the camera, at least if it's the Natika. The ground to the camera will be picked up through the RCA video shield (outer) connection. The Red/Blk pair on the 26ft cable don't need to be connected. I ran them inside the cab, but just bundled them up. Some people have just cut them off, but I never cut off stuff like that.. cuz you never know. I believe the Germes unit had a 6vdc and a 12vdc output. I tied the Natika trigger wire to the Germes 12vdc+ (Red) wire.

This is a Natika Wiring Diagram

Okay I get it. So the only wire I need to hook up is the trigger wire from germes > RCA trigger > natika red wire? Black wire from the natika is unused?

This all makes me very concerned. I am doing the exact opposite. I am going to attach the 12V + & - from the germes and leave the trigger wire alone. Think that'll work too?

I haven't tried it that way, but I'm sure it would work. Skydvrr asked it is "necessary to run the power and ground wires from the camera to the head unit". If you use that Trigger Wire, it's not necessary.

I briefly tested it that way at the head unit and it did work. I just pushed the natika wires into the crimped ends in the germes and it did work.

Red wire marked "+12v out" on the Germes connects to the "Trigger Wire" on the Natika RCA connector. As CttAznRanger indicated, there are other ways to connect, not using the trigger wire but instead using the Red and Black power wires.
I connected my camera temporarily for testing after I connected the CS harnesses, but before I pushed the HU back into it's installed position. I just ran the camera wire through the passenger window for testing. When I found it worked using the trigger wire I decided not to run the Red and Blk power wires to behind the HU. It seemed like space was limited back there already.

ALSO... the Red and Blk wires are much shorter than the rest of the cable. I think those wires are probably intended for if you need to pick up 12vdc from under the hood, or somewhere else on the truck. But if you do get power elsewhere, be sure it's switched power, otherwise the camera will remain on constantly and drain your battery.

Sweet, that makes me feel much better about it.
That makes perfect sense. I'll probably run extended wires for it to the head unit 12V since I already plan on doing that with the other camera.
