BIG THANKS to all of you who have purchased one from me, your support and feedback has really helped me continue to develop and fabricate this and improve it, the second and larger LOT in in the manufacturing process as you read this this. I estimate it will be ready in less than two weeks, approximately 8/19/18.
I am also working to get the ordering process more streamlined and the shipping times shortened as much as possible.

That being said, I will still accept orders just know that your DMM will be shipping in about two weeks, I will be shipping them out in the order that they are paid for (duh).

PLEASE add your TW username and shipping info to the payment notes or I won't know where to send your DMM to.​

I was able to make it stop by swapping from a 3.69" arm to a shorter one from the chest mount for my action cam. I guess the force of the phone hanging from the longer arm was too much. Hopefully it doesn't get broken in and start making noise again with the shorter arm.

 

Recieved mine today, install took about 30 minutes total, mostly because I was searching for the tools I needed.

Very easy to install and very clean system.

Great product, I installed mine while on a boring phone conference for work.
I love that it is not blocking my AC vent, and my phone is not ice cold when I get to destination.

Just got done with the install. Took me less than an hour including getting all my tools together and cleanup. All parts were included and impressive quality. I ordered a second RAM ball with my kit, which showed up a few days later along with a note offering $2 refund due to the delay. FMT: thanks for the offer, but no worries! It’s all good bro.

I didn’t have a #10 drill bit but used a 13/64” (0.2031”) vs the recommended #10 bit (0.1935”) which worked just fine for the 8 countersunk holes. For the RAM ball holes I used a 3/16” drill bit. To clear the plastic tabs on the backside of the trim I used a dremel tool with a small grinder bit to notch the clearance needed for the nuts. Easy-peasy, just like the instructions called for.

Mine is an iOttie for tablets that I believe is discontinued...
BUT!
I found another one that I just bought and will be testing, if it works I will be selling it pretty soon, I also already have a pretty nice phone mount ready to sell all you need would be a short arm to connect to the ball mount. (I will also have that pretty soon)

Received my kit and had it installed in around 20 minutes. No issues at all. The real challenge was to open up a cheap magnetic Qi charger (

Attom Tech Magnetic Wireless Charger, Fast Qi Wireless Car Charger 7.5W for iPhones, 10W for Samsung Phones, 5W for All Other Qi Devices (Dashboard and Air Vent)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FC5TTWP) pull out the guts and mount it to the X-Grip.

• Disassemble the Qi mount - remove the rubber pad and plastic barrier to get to four #000 phillips screws (smallest size) and remove them.
• Remove charging coil and circuit board.
• The charging coil is the same size as the rubber RAM sticker - pull that off (plenty of stick-em still on it) and apply over coil.
• Tape off RAM sticker, small multi-color LED (charging indicator) on side and USB input.
• Plasti-derp circuit board front and back - three coats, let dry and untape everything.
• Mix up and apply 2-part, 5-minute epoxy and epoxy circuit board to X-Grip - make sure it's centered and straight.

All done. Easy peasy, about 45 minutes of work and now no charging cables on the phone.
Next step is to route a short USB into dash and tuck it behind to no visible hanging cables. I'll post again when that's done.

I've been following this thread and been putting it off since June when you first started. Kept debating if i really need this. haha. Thank you for making such a useful modification. No more balancing my phone on the dashboard.
