Sorry to hear about the hiccup, I appreciate you writing about it. It helps me pin point potential issues and slowly make changes so that the DMM becomes a better and better product.
I am currently working on an easier to install version, even though it’s never been particularly difficult I feel that there is ALWAYS room for improvement.

I’ll be uploading a video installation of the DMM this week

New orders should refer to it for installation.

Thinking about getting a DMM for my Garmin Nuvi 1450 GPS. How would you guys recommend that I adapt from the 1" RAM Ball to the female hole in the bracket that snaps into the back of the Nuvi? I think it is a 17MM but not positive. Thanks.

Or check to see if RAM makes a device-specific mount.

It depends where you want it to end up. I like having my phone to be drooping over the trim panel near my hand. So, a 1.5in arm on the DMM RAM ball supporting my phone mount.

If you want the GPS further away, then you might be able to attached the mount directly to the DMM?

Thanks guys. I'm thinking that I could use a double socket arm RAM mount for 1" balls and then find a adapter that is 1" male on one end and 17mm male on the other end. That would snap right into the Nuvi bracket.

I have both of those things in stock. I’ll post a picture. When I get back home from work.
Except the arm I have is obviously not RAM. I tried yo work out a deal with them but they don’t seem to be interested in the small guy (me)

    DMM V2.0 is now released.
Hardware improvements make installation even easier now. Mounting locations are all the same and functionality remains equal.

Thank you, @FreshMexicanTaco. It works great. All that's left is to wire a charging cable behind the dash

I wired the cables and then I ran it through one of the DMM holes, I had to enlarge one of them though
