The standard slim grip option should be able to grip that relatively well... If you buy it and it turns out to not work I'll take it back at no cost to you.

So I had been running a vent mount nite ize in my mustang to hold my phone and it did well. Now I've been using it and it drops my phone all the time and bounces like crazy. It's one that has predetermined click levels that are spring loaded. I like it because it's so easy to remove my phone. This looks like the perfect solution to mounting in my truck. I've tried digging through this thread for answers, but there are so many pages.

I'm looking at getting just the single mount setup. I want to use a mount that is easy to manipulate my phone in and out of as well as charge it. I thought I wanted magnetic and wireless charging for convenience, but my phone is such a power hog I'm sure I want to go with a permanently wired connection. Does anyone have a link to adding usb ports directly so they can be hidden and the wiring isn't running up my dash?

Unfortunately, I had to remove the DMM from my current truck. I'll install on the next iteration and will take better pics

I use the magnetic mount and it’s great for 99% of the driving. Even on dirt roads, the convenience of it can’t be beat, that being said I do have to change the holder when I’m doing real off roading. The slim grip holder I have on the site is also a good option, it has a secure grip and it’s easy to operate with one hand as well.
Also the DSM kits are on sale right now.
30% OFF, a full kit will only be 45$

First of all, I like your gun mount as well! Secondly, you have your USB port mounted nicely in the floor well there. Is it also possible to just tuck it all in behind the dash and zip tie it so it doesn't swing around and make noise? I haven't looked behind the dash yet. Still waiting for a couple more parts to arrive in the mail.

That's definitely possible. Trust me, when i was cutting that hole I questioned myself many times why I wasn't doing exactly what you described, haha! Ultimately, I wanted to be able to plug unplug quickly with it being solid, in case i needed to run a USB charging cable to a flashlight or something.

If you won't be swapping cables, or simply don't want to hassle with cutting a hole, tuck it up and zip tie it, 100%

I already have that one and it is too wide when closed, even with the short arms. I want something that will grip the detector on its width (3 3/4').

My DMM showed up yesterday. I’m going to mount a Garmin GPS with it. Does anyone know how difficult it is to run the power cord out of sight behind the dash? I’m planning to route the cord behind the dash, then come back out and use the cigarette lighter plug in for power.

Mine arrived in about two days. I installed it last night. I moved slowly and it took me about 30 minutes. I already had a Ram X-mount so I put that on. It is rock solid. Phone doesn't move at all And now it's up and out of the way of the radio screen and the air vent. All I need now is the USB behind the dash. That'll be soon. Thanks, Taco Garage, this is a great add!

I expect a lot of orders since this has been out of stock for a little while so we may have longer than expected shipping times. (4-5 business days)

I just recieved mine. Unfortunately the phone mount is very small, too small for my phone (S9+). But the rest of the mount seems very straight forward. I'll be sure to update in a few days once I have time to install it and order a Ram mount from Amazon

I am almost positive that the slim grip mount (using the longer legs) stretches to about 7in. The S9+ I believe is about 6.2" tall so even with a case you should be able to get it in there...
...I've had people before who don't realize the holder stretches, you know its spring loaded correct?
