The mount is definitely not going to work for this one, there's nothing to attach it to, I wouldnt mind sending one out but from the pictures I can tell it would be useless for both of us... is there a clip or something that maybe comes with it that may allow it to be mounted on something other than a cradle?

Sweet! Thank you! I teach out of my truck and we use the radios for scenarios. I'd love a useful solution. Looks sharp, too. I appreciate it.

It's definitely not a perfect fit but I can wedge the clip in there and it holds. I just reach forward to use the mic and I leave it mounted. Here are a few more pics:

Pretty much 3/4 width, I'll make that change for the next batch...

We are going to be modifying these to make them more widely compatible, I knew there were a few different variations but I never thought there were that many and that different. I figured it was a loose standard and companies would at least make them kind of similar. Maybe not. I already made some changes and we can send you an updated one to try out. I don't think we are going to be able to accomodate that Retevis handheld mic style. Maybe a separate version for clip style radios.

Sounds good. I'd be happy to test out the new version and provide pics once you make that change.

Yea, I didn't know how far stretched it was either. That mic clip is a far stretch but figured since I had it I'd try.

Would it be safe to assume that all Midland mics fit based on the one mic working?

Pretty safe bet, and if it doesn't, you can send it back and get your money back no problem

    V2 is READY!
You need a button style mic. Like this one.... Most issues should be fixed now and button style mics should all be compatible... until you tell me its not...

It will still not be compatible with clip style radios, like this one...
Clip style is still in the works....

We will start shipping these today, If you are on the list to receive the second batch of free mounts, we will send you a PM with a discount code that you can use to order you free mount on our site. Stay tuned.

I know... I still can't believe it sometimes. Thank you. I really like the red anodized look, we have a few things we anodize in red including the start button and I just really like everything in red. We're about to start making the 1" ball mount arms in red aluminum too and I just can't wait for that...

So first I want to thank the OP for designing this and sharing it with the community. I got it in the mail about a week and a half ago and was really impressed with the packaging display and the first impression. The finish is clean and professional. It's definitely a high-end design. I was really happy to see that it came with the ball mount so I loaded up on my a pillar and gave it a shot.

I clipped my Midland mic on and it felt super secure and there was very little playing it. There's enough room to lift it out of the holster easily and not feel like you're pulling they're catching on it.

I use the mic at work running scenarios so before I've had it down in my lap while I acted as dispatch but now I haven't clicked up I and it makes life super easy. I'm able to use my lap desk and take notes and do other things and not have to fumble around with where my my lands

We went out to the field this weekend to hit some trails in camp we were all using gmrs. Everyone was really impressed with the mouth and mine on Toyota friends we're glad to see something new and the design field. It didn't jump or shake the entire trip and did exactly what it's supposed to do.

10 out of 10 I definitely recommend the product, supporting the business, I'm getting one for yourself. The price is extremely Fair and the quality is outstanding. Thanks again for the opportunity I look forward to seeing more reviews.

Thanks OP for giving me the chance to test this mic holder. I had the opportunity to install this item last week. My review applies to daily driving, offroad to some single track and ohv park nearby.
    Tested on Midland MX275:
    - Installation was plug and play and install within a minute.
    - mic fit was a little loose and was easy to take off and put back on.
    - while daily driving, it would hold in place but I would see it jiggle when riding uneven road or offroad.
-At higher speed during wheeling, I was afraid it would jump out the clip. Definitely could rattle but still held in place.
    - So I decided to do a temporary fix by putting a rubber o-ring on my mic so it would have tight fit. But it was a really tight fit and I'm sure the wear and tear of the O-ring would loosen it from the holder.
    - My 2 cents, maybe have some type of pressure plate against the holder similar to this item. The it would be perfect.

    Hope this helps!

I got my mic mount last week! Arrived safe and sound via a padded USPS package.

I installed it into my Taco on my DMM. Looks awesome! I went with the black colored holder to match the rest of my accessories and the blacked out interior.

I use a Uniden Bear Cat SSB CB radio unit and the supplied Bearcat handheld mic. I have tried a few other mic mounting solutions such as: cheap plastic holder with adhesive (lasted 5 minutes off-road) and the supplied "coat hanger" trucker style CB mic holder for your rear view mirror. Those were both horrible.

This mic mount works great! It fits really well into the DMM with RAM mounts. I put mine on a small RAM extension arm and it fits perfectly as expected.

The mic itself has some play while sitting in the holder. Which is good! I don't want to be fighting the mic whenever I am trying to pull it out.

Off-road it moves around a bit as you would expect, but nothing too crazy. It stays in place!

My only suggestion to this mic mount is to black out the ball mount stem. I did this on my DMM ball mounts using some black heat shrink, and it looks awesome! I plan on doing that asap.

    10/10

    A+

    100%.

Well done @FreshMexicanTaco and Taco Garage, quality product.

Thank you guys for the feedback I really REALLY appreciate it. We will continue to look out for ways to make this and all of our other products better.
Its hard to make something universal and also have it be a tight fit so we will now try and find a way to aleviate that... and hopefully we will end up with the best mic mount out there.
