My guess is that they all did. The hundred on file could also be the ones who didn't let the dealers do their job. This too will blow over.

I see "your" logic. You don't care if via statistica trends, most sudden acceleration issues are likely related to Toyota as long as the overall percentage is low. That's fine.

To me that argument like saying (Hypothetical): I don't care if most air crashes involve Boeing aircrafts as opposed to AirBus. As long as the overall crashes are low, I'm fine with things as they are.

My argument is - If air crashes predominantly involve Boeing aircraft and not AirBus, then there is something worthwhile to look into and figure out why it affects one manufacture as opposed to another. One preventable death is one too many.

I'm saying your article as credible as my article.. One doesn't disprove the other.

However my article stated statistical facts related ONLY to sudden acceleration reports. The edumunds study did a tally of ALL reports. Basically two different metrics.

Why is "your" in quotes? If anything, it should be "logic", because nothing in my previous post related to logic.

Which would be and is exactly how I feel about the situation.

It's the only sane way to approach the situation. If you're scared of sudden acceleration in your vehicle and focus on that, you're going to get killed by something that actually does happen to people, like getting t-boned by some drunk.

Not only that, but you're going to stress out over something meaningless on your way to dying. Have fun with that.

Your argument is stupid. No offense, that's just the bottom line. Especially this part:

Do you campaign for MADD every weekend? Are you a D.A.R.E. officer?
Do you take time off from work to fly rice to starving sub-saharan African children? All of these prevent preventable deaths.

Drunk drivers are assholes, druggies are idiots, and I don't give a shit about starving African children because they're way over there and raping the third world for profit is pretty much our national pastime in the developed West.

But at least I don't try to pretend otherwise. I'm going to hell, but I'm earning it. Anyone who makes the argument you made is just in denial.

Betcha didn't expect THAT abstraction, didja!?!:D

They only sell that many because it is the best truck in the world ...

If a few have a problem that doesn't make all of them junk, mechanical things will break, and TOYOTA will fix them.. where is the problem again ?

It is what it is...I'm sticking by my Tacoma come hay or high water...been around Robin Hoods' barn more than once, seen a lotta stuff come and go over the years...the media is the LAST thing I'll depend on for pertinent information...I'm more afraid of my wife w/ a skillet in her hand than I am of the :crapstorm: going on around the auto world...time for a cyber hug:p

I'm with jandrews on this one. I'm more worried about things that have a higher chance of occuring, like slipping on ice and cracking my skull open, getting eaten by a bear while hiking up some remote river and getting hit by a car while crossing the road, than I am about my Tacoma killing me. Given that I don't even worry about those other things when I go about my daily life, that pretty much explains how I feel about all of the paranoia going on with the recalls and whatnot.

I've come to the conculsion that there are too many crazy people around who can't keep things in perspective at all.
