I'm looking to correct the rear Taco lean and this is the only remedy I have found. It's basically a 1/2" lift block. Do any of you have experience with this or some insight? Hopefully I won't have to be the guinea pig with this! :bananadead:

Also interested in hearing about anyone's experience with these. I've got the lean front and back on driver's side.

Anyone use them on BOTH sides for a small lift. :crapstorm:
(and if you did, would you need longer shocks than stock?)

I have been trying to address my rear lean for a while now. It was 3/4 low on the left side with a full gas tank. Here is what I've done.
After the recall and the 4 leaf pack was added, I tried that 1/2" shim on my left side only and saw almost no change in height. Because the brand new 4 leaf pack is still flat under just the weight of the truck, my theory is the 1/2" shim just provided more up force on the middle of the spring pack and it just deformed downward more because it wasn't strong enough to overcome the frame flex perhaps. After I added the 3 leaf progressive AAL, my pack had more arch under load, so I tried this shim again. This time it provided a little lift and evened me out to within 1/4. I still didn't like having a "block" in there and thought it might stress the pack over time, so yesterday I went to the local salvage, bought a used spring pack, took one leaf out and trimmed it to length, and replaced my middle leaf from the AAL with the "new" custom leaf, which had more arch than the removed leaf. This accomplished the same thing and I am very happy with the result. I'm within 1/4" left to right in the rear with a full gas tank. It's more work, but after having done both, I would recommend going the route of swapping out a single leaf with more arch into your pack. It's kind of trial and error, but you get really fast at swapping out leaves after a couple go arounds.

I would think this would be perfectly fine as it's only 1/2", and I doubt you'd need new shocks unless you went any higher in the rear.

@jibski that's the other option I was thinking of, replacing a leaf. I have 2 OEM leafs + 1 Wheelers AAL + 1 over load leaf. My thought was to replace my 1.5" AAL with a 2". I'll have to ask Wheelers if they'd be willing to sell just 1 leaf.

Semi unrelated, with the crappy 2+1 OEM pack + these AALs I'm expecting only 1" of lift over stock (it's a dcsb). Does that sound about right?

I went ahead and ordered one 2" leaf and 2 pins for $40 shipped.

Does the 1" of lift sound about right given the sacked out 2+1 pack and double cab after settling?

I have them on both sides for a .5" lift. No issues at all.

I just installed that exact 1/2" shim. It's a waste of time really no change in my lean at all. I'm going to try replacing all the body mounts next as some people say they wear faster on the drivers side.

I'm running brand new OME leafs with less than 1k miles on them and have 3/4" of lean to the drivers side.

Interested in these body mount bushings also, thought about the shim to fix my lean on my '14 but looks to not be a fix. When do you plan on doing the body mounts?

Search my name, you should be able to find a thread I created a few months back covering a similar topic

Swapping out body mounts won't do anything for rear lean. If you have 3/4" difference right to left, I would consider swapping out a single leaf from the left pack with a leaf with more arch. Or even just add another single leaf to the left. That should have more effect than using the 1/2" shim. But something doesn't seem right if you have that big of a discrepancy with brand new leaf packs. Have you verified you indeed have the right and left specific packs and they are on the correct sides?

    Not an overbrander.
Hey all, I've got that shim on my driver side and it corrected the driver side lean perfectly with no noticeable change in the ride.
