    I'm assuming that the PreRunner is cheaper? I'm probably after the PreRunner, since it doesn't sound like I need all the other stuff.

    What are the advantages and disadvantages of both?

    Prerunner adv: Cheaper at initial purchase, slightly better mpg, lighter by +- 400lbs, less maintmence, less to go wrong, can use lift spindles, no cv's to worry about when/if you lift, insurance may be cheaper.

    disadvantages- less traction when offroading, more likely to get stuck etc, if you have an open diff and one wheel is off the ground in the rear your just sitting there unless you have the limited slip(or a locker) which i believe is on most if not all the new models.

    oil change...
    PreRunner = 2WD
    4x4 = 4x4

    TRD sport = hood scoop with LSD rear differential
    TRD off road = Rear locker ( better for off roading)...

    ^^ X2. It has the same stance (suspension) as a 4x4, but no 4 wheel drive. (and because of that, better gas mileage).
