Hey guys....figured I’d give you an update on my 2018 TRD OR that I picked up last month. Haven’t done anything crazy to it yet, but all the little stuff adds up!

    So Far I’ve done:

    -Window Tint
    -Tonneau Cover
    -Debadged
-Removed rear fender chip guard film (dirt had already gotten under the edges)

    On Deck to do:

-Leveling kit to be installed 7/17
    -Black tailgate letter inlays
    -Tires/Rims eventually
    -Exhaust? Maybe....
    -TRD Pro Grille

Let me know what you think!

Sounds good. Figure out what your budget will allow and make smart choices. A bed mat is awesome if you carry or put things in back. A/C drain mod is inexpensive. Speaker upgrades. So much info on this site. Good luck!

What kind of leveling kit are you looking at?

I know It’s like the forbidden fruit around here haha but I am going with a spacer kit. I’ve used them on multiple trucks before and I’ve never had bad luck so I’m running with it again.

Yea, people do freak out... I have always used coilovers on my Tacoma lifts. BUT, for some reason my OME sagged 1/2" on my 08 & I put a 1/4" spacer on it. Did not notice a difference.

It’s all personal preference...I’ve had them on silverados, F150s, and rangers before and never noticed much difference in ride quality and never had any negative effects. All of my friends run spacers on their trucks as well, with same results. So, we’ll give er a run!

A common phenomenon on enthusiast forums. Tons of valuable info, but lots of groupthink as well. 90% of the Tacomas you see on the street have super cheap lifts, with no ECGS. Not saying that they don't have some issues, but it's not as common place as the forum would have you think.

The local Toyota dealer in my city will only install spacer lifts and does not warranty true lifts. So there ya go....for what it’s worth.

I think there is a huge amount of misunderstanding on this forum about how suspension actually works. Concepts like preload, droop, and ride-height seems to be tossed around at random. There are no negatives to a proper installed spacer lift if the result meets your expectations.

Truck looks good. Even though mine is MGM, I really like white as well.

I'm ordering my spacer lift. My 2017 Silverado did perfectly fine with $50 spacers and long ago my 2001 Ram did as well. It is impossible for a new coil over that costs $700 that gives you 2" of lift to not have angle issues that the exact same 2" resulting spacer would. They do the EXACT same thing. If you a different ride, maybe more travel then go with the coil over.

Hi guys. I just bought my first Tacoma last week. I had a Silverado with a spacer lift, then I had a Jeep Rubicon with the rough country Spacer/suspension lift. I never had problems with either of them. So the very next day after getting my Tacoma I ordered a set of Red Rough Country 2" leveling spacers. Today, I've been doing forum reading and there are so many people against them. Can figure it out. Anyways, thank you for this thread. I like the logic behind the comments.
I got my Tacoma used. It's a 2016 and has 30k miles on it. Super clean.

I was looking at those RC spacers last night as well. Currently stock, my rear is 1 3/8” higher. I’m afraid to get too much lift in front. Did you put them on yourself?

I haven't put them in yet. Im planning on having a garage put them in anyway. It looks like a simple enough job but you have to get an Alignment done after.
As far as the back not being a full two inches higher, I guess when you lift the front that two inches, it relieves the back a bit as well allowing it to raise up just slightly, leveling it out.

I have had my truck for almost a month now and I put a 2 inch leveling spacer with alignment and it feels just as when it was stock. No issues to report.
