Ok, did some searching on here, but didn't see anything about any mods that you would or wouldn't do for a leased vehicle.

Other than minor chachkies (seat covers, LED back up lights, LED map lights, center console organizer, etc.), I plan on putting in my dash cam from my old vehicle but that's about it. I'd like to do more to personalize it, but not sure what I can get away with seeing as how I'll probably turn it in at the end of the lease (Got an SR, wanted an SR5 or higher, but due to an accident, I really didn't feel like waiting another month for one to show up...).

I'd LIKE to go with bigger tires & wheels, fog lights and maybe a few other things.

What ever you add to a lease vehicle, keep the take offs. You will probably have to restore it to the condition you bought it in or you may get assessed fees at the end. A lot will depend on you're relationship with the dealer and if the dealer thinks they can sell it with the mods for the value of your buyout or balloon payment. I'd see what's selling used in your market on dealer lots as well. A lot of time, mods may get taken off and sold separately.

Feel free to add wheels/tires you like. Keep the ones that came on the truck. Bolt the originals back on when you turn in the truck.

Beyond that, anything requiring drilling holes, non-bolt-on parts or wiring changes YMMV.

Normally, I wouldn't, but with the price of used vehicles being sky high and my previous vehicle getting totalled in accident, I didn't have much of an alternative. Also, with my daily commute being less than 10 miles a day, lease isn't bad option.

Never return a leased tacoma, it doesn't matter what you do to it.

When the lease is over, buy it out or have someone buy it out with cash for you.

If you run into trouble, someone will take over the lease no issue.

It's fine to modify leased vehicles, the only time I've seen my dealer have issues is when it affects the re-sale negatively. So stuff like graphics, ugly rims, winches etc.

I lifted my lease, did all LED's, and grill without any issue when the lease was terminated.

My dad managed leasing programs for Ford for most of his career. Mods can be highly personal and can detract from the perceived value in the eyes of the used car team of the dealership. Whether it's Meso color matched vinyl or seat covers with odd stitching colors or details. Permanent mods are not a good idea. Detailing the vehicle and returning it to as good a condition as possible is the best thing to do. If you add tires / wheels, keep the old one. If you want to black out you flares, derp it. The important part of this is what the used cr manager thinks he can sell it for.

I did to keep my payment down as my wife wasn't working and I needed a new vehicle that could take mileage on my commute. I bought the lease out when she got back to work and before the mileage got too bad. Leases are not ideal as you're just renting a car for a few years, but tereare people they work well for.
