    No shit lol...

YMMV but around here, I think it's 60 or so to load and $3/mile after...mileage is ONLY while towing. So $75. How much is the rental? How much could you possibly save and how much is all this worry worth?

trailer brakes won't do shit if you are going around say a big sweeping turn. simple physics tell us an object in motion really really wants to continue in a straight line. I think that is how we went for a ride. it wasnt a braking issue. the trailer wanted to keep going straight and it simply pulled the back of the tow rig out and around.

Gotcha....I thought (assumed...I know, I know) it started swaying on you. And a little sway turns into a big sway and that turns into a helluva ride. The little sway is what the brakes will correct....usually....hopefully.

admittedly, the driver took on more than we could handle. we were in our 20's. I was asleep, so I don't know how fast we were going.

it was a big sweeper turn. in college we had a problem to solve that was similar and it was EUREKA moment for me.

that sway situation you mention. seen in in front of me, but Never experienced it. I watched a camper trailer go over in in slow-mo. amazing.
