    from driving my brothers a little bit. i agree.brakes fill sloppy he has an ’09. and turning radius is like a damn school bus. are drive way has a circle thats kinda tight in it i can make it no problem. brother can even make half over it at full lock. dads 2000 tundra can make it tho.

    The Taco frame is my biggest concern.
    I know bad news sells; so you only hear of the bad frames.
    Any idea of the Taco frame failure rate?
    I worked at a GM plant that dipped cars in an anti-corrosion bath; not sure about Toyota?

    Just lots of hard driving and a lot of power braking and donuts.:D Don't get me wrong I love Toyotas, I have an 85 and I'm looking for the right taco but the Chevy is a quality piece.

    73, god knows how many miles, original tranny. Yeah its a 4spd but its original.

    oh i still have never read or heard of a taco needing a tan rebuilt at anything under 250k not saying it may have never been done but neber read or heard of it. moms ’87 corolla has over 300k and not been rebuilt same for dads tundra with over 200k.

    edit: we have also towed a few cars with it even tho we maybe should not have both wear a bit much. a 300ZX on a steal trailer i know got towed like 2 or 3 times. a ford thunderbird on same trailer. trailer was made for tractors not cars. uhaul would not rent us a trailer with either car. so we asked a friend. to use his that he put a tractor on.

    actually, toyota chooses better steel than GM does. they are much pickier and have much higher standards than GM when buying the raw material. that's why toyota can get away with a lighter, C channel frame that's just as strong.

    New ones? Uhh...zero thus far. It was only the 1st gens that had that problem. Toyota jumped on it pretty good and I'm sure they took steps so that they didn't have to go through it again.

    4 on the floor baby. Nice. Gonna need more pics when that beauty is up and running. Always had a soft spot for mid 70's Sierras.

    i have never owned a domestic vehicle in my life between the 2 toyota trucks and acura and honda cars. that being said, the sierra is about the only truck i still think is a vehicle that i'd consider

    You're asking [largely] die-hard Tacoma fans which vehicle they would choose, a Silverado or a Tacoma.

    I see no reason to think Tacoma owners might have a Tacoma bias. :rolleyes:

    You should get both, but the Tacoma will be towing the Silverado a lot ;)
