...^^^... I am going to live part time in Thailand and part time in the US.

I want to spend more time in Thailand than the US though.

Sold my house of 21 years in ATL and have Thai friends and am looking forward to this next step in life.

    Thanks for the pics ...

PS .. My biggest obstacle is getting good medical insurance there ... like I have in the US.

I realize now that it sounded like I dont like the pre-runner. Its not that, I just wish they still made the 5 lug, low 2wd.

I think it depends on your wants and needs. I like the shortbed but need the longed.

Thanks Mountain Minstrel! I removed 6-inches from the back of my AC bed which centered the wheelwells. I really like how the Access Cab body style looks this way!

I always wanted a 1962-1964 Lincoln Continental, but with a MT. I sort of have that now and couldn't be happier.

I lived in Laos from 1964 to 1975 (& 6 mos in Thailand). Would go back in heartbeat if the damn commies left. Loved the country, people, food, and even the weather. Drove a DCLB Daihatsu pick-up and a Citroen GS (& about 6 diff motorcycles) during my time there. Amazing off-road adventures (think jungle trails!). Wonderful part of the world!

So, it seems like at those specs, the length would be similiar to a 4runner. That being the case, why did you buy a truck versus a 4runner?

Do you still use the bed? do you just like how a truck feels vs an SUV?

If given the option of something the size of your modified rig vs a 4runner, I'd pick the truck. I don't know why, I just would.

So, really I'm just curious as to why a shortened truck vs SUV of same length. short discussion at work the other day about why some of us prefer trucks and others prefer SUV's. The truck people's answer was pretty much "we just like trucks better" so I was just wondering.

I only ever have one other person in the car plus the dog, so access Cab is perfect for me.
