And I’m in no way hating on eibach, between the race car, my samurai, and my truck I have at least 6 sets of eibach springs on them. And I’ve probably installed another 50 sets of them changing out coilover springs. Because they are awesome.

Imagine having the reading comprehension skills of a grape.

-Learn the difference between "progressive-rate" suspensions and normal Suspensions. Its effectively the difference between "Diesel" and "Gasoline" as far as the mechanism of the spring and valving go.
-so you should simply increase spring RATE not length. the spring should be a match to your progressive or normal/digressive shock&valving just as one would wear the correct size shoes or glasses.
-Eibach could have started making shocks yesterday for all it matters, so long as people like you exist, they will never fail to exploit
the smoothbrain elitist's who chirp about labels™ market with block spacers and "lift springs"

You and Badkitty know what’s up. And you’re providing valuable info that will be appreciated by many (and should be contemplated in detail by anyone with a PRO considering these springs; so, pay attention PRO guys, it’s in your best interest).

That said, there are a lot of Pro owners that couldn’t care less about the info your providing because they just want their truck to sit a little taller and that’s a priority to them over EVERYTHING else. And to many of them, it won’t matter. That’s ok, too.

So yeah, there’s a market for these springs. And Eibach is offering them. If I had a pro, I wouldn’t buy them. For the reasons you and Badkitty suggest.

    Agree,
but to be fair, Im not raining on John-Doe-user's thread, This was a thread started by a corporate marketer, who has data-mined this website, and is literally exploiting the ignorance of the consumer (while simultaneously being almost comically ignorant of both their own companies products AND the fundamental principles of suspensions themself) to sell them the off-road industries most notorious and egregious snake oil. The comparison couldn't be easier: Its indistinguishable from "Big-Tobacco's" behavior. They literally focus-grouped an ignorant consumer set, and in a pre-meditated manner, cooked up the EXACT product to exploit it, at the price point an equation that considered (pro-buyer income/pro-truck cost and market-adjusted-pricing)determined.

That said, I could care less what any of you think because im looking out for YOU ALL no matter what. Im personally insulted companies think they can just come in here with smug attitudes:
when they dont know the FIRST thing about their own company,
    let alone actual suspension principle.

This is how "culture change" begins. one post at a time. This is REAL "consumer protection". "stealing fire back from the gods" You see this everyday, all over the internet and world, companies with smug attitudes and an ethos of exploiting con$umer ignorance get just a little long in the tooth and here comes the cat...

The result is either A.) better made product, backed by integrity and a 'do-no-harm' responsibility displayed by the manufacturer out of respect of their educated-customer, OR B.) they go down in embarrassing flames in some random, insignificant Toyota Tacoma forum in the back-alley of the internet.

I must say, this is a new one for me. An aftermarket suspension manufacturer being compared to Big Tobacco. LMAO

I feel very enlightened after from being saved from the evil claws of a marketer. PHEW!! PRAISE THE LORD!! I am so thankful that Toyota (or insert whichever for-profit company you wish) hasn't gone straight to the consumer to do market research before offering products they clearly don't need. Who needs transportation, anyway?

#armchairengineering at its finest. I'm out before I get into an argument on the internet. I heard cats are popular on the internet but I still don't believe it.

Actually... it all started with my question about over extension of the stock rear shocks! However, my question is getting a lot of answers and I love reading the different view points! I'm very much in agreement with your take on it and it confirms my suspicions. It's also good to know that most people here believe a 1" block or AAL won't negatively affect the stock rear Fox shocks.

Unfortunately the subconversation about the rear shocks has apparently confused several folks in this thread who think we are talking about putting blocks on the front or something. Either that or they just cant read. Idk, Im just a stupid Offroad owner in a Pro thread, what do I know

I read through some of the other posts (the angry ones) and there’s some interesting claims regarding the front shocks and what extending the ride height might do to drivability. Mainly the points taking about how the bypass shocks up front need to be at a certain length in the shock travel during normal driving conditions in order for them to work as designed. Coming from a mountain biking background, my ears have perked up to these claims. Very interesting this whole conversation has become all around.

Dude.... the last couple pages just went through the questions regarding the rear. I believe the OP stated the front would get 1-1.5” of lift.

    Yeah.
Some of us actually do understand how the Pro Fox suspension was designed and works and aren't looking for a lift. We just want a slightly higher spring rate to support a winch and steel bumper. If this upgrade gave me more than 1/2 inch of lift (with the added weight), I would likely pass.
