Question that I’m hoping someone could answer. I might be trading my taco in for a newer 2020 trd off road trim. Has the back up sensors and blind spot monitoring. If I the truck 3 inches and throw on aftermarket front and rear bumpers, does that alter the sensors? If so, is there a way to correct them?

The lift will have no effect on the sensor performance. The front bumper will also have no effect on your Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) or the Backup sensors. However, a rear steel bumper will eliminate the BSM. Most aftermarket steel bumpers offer an option for backup sensor monitors and you can swap them over.

I know @Apogee Offroad has been working on a BSM compatible bumper, but it's been a long time in the works and I'm not sure where it stands as of now. I believe C4 Fab used to offer a BSM compatible bumper, but ended up dropping it from their line of products, due to BSM performance issues and a general lack of interest from customers.

I eliminated my BSM with my RCI rear bumper. To be honest, I wasn't happy about losing it, but I also haven't missed it.

    Thanks for the tag Bert!

We've had a rear standard clearance bumper on the market for a few years now that is fully compatible with the BSM and parking sensors. We've hit a few bumps along the way but have corrected any issues rapidly. We are still the only company on the market to offer BSM compatibility! If you have any further questions, please feel free to email us at info@apogeeoffroad.com or PM us! -Ethan
