Thinking of putting the roof rack on my 15' Taco...Any of you have it or installed the Toyota roof rack yourself ? If you installed it , difficult, easy? Also Pics of what you have? And do you have special cross bars or storage of sorts you've put up there? Thanks for the info..

I'm interested too but there is a you tube video showing the installation. Looks pretty straight forward for the install with no drilling. I heard these make wind noise, is that true?

I purchased the Toyota factory rack on Ebay. It was very easy to install. Took me less than an hour with very basic tools. I plan to use it to haul my kayaks. Sorry no pics.

Easy to install. Some wind noise. More wind noise when the bars are set across.

Installed mine today. 30-45 minutes, if you have the right tools.

The install is super easy. If I remember their only thing needed is screwdrivers. But I may have forgotten something.

Torx 25, torx 30, preferably socket types. Knife, plastic putty knife, scratch awl or something to line up screw holes.

That was basically all I used.

Really not hard at all. I did it in an hour or so. Just be careful not to cross thread the screws.

What he said. I stripped out one of the small blue thread lock screw holes on each side and there was a big gap between the rack and the roof (1/4" or so). I ran a M6x1.00 tap through and had to get new screws from the hardware store. The second try I was more careful and now it is pretty tight, one side has maybe less than a credit card thick gap on the outside front part above the drivers door and the other side looks good. I am hoping it should be fine, guess I'll find out.

That is precisely why I bought them.
