I am looking for a vinyl wrap closest to the cement color to wrap my bumper chrome caps. Do you know what color/brand? It looks to me like #1 or #7? Thanks in adavance.

Thanks for the reply. You have a suggestion on which one is closer to the cement? Im trying to match the color as close as possible. Wasn’t sure if you’ve seen in person.

Well looks like I need to order more lights for the truck. Gonna try some adhesive led strips to fill the gap between front and back.

    My truck

    And the 4Runner

Also, wiring isn't quite how I hoped it would turn out, so got a dpdt rocket switch and 3 switch holder on the way to clean up some of my wiring.

Biggest pain in the ass is reconfiguring everything as the project evolves and things get added that you never even thought about in the beginning.

Final switch layout. Bummed the rock lights switch led doesn't light up, but ground side circuit, and not changing it for now.

    So...spare tire thoughts.

    Option 1

Probably get mounted on some sort of hinge so it can either be stood upright, or lifted up to load gear under the bedcage. Pretty decent storage.

    Option 2

Maximum storage space, but I would want to cut/ notch the bed to lower the tire into it, which I kinda don't want to. Plus I feel would kinda look weird as a sigle spare and not dual.

    Option 3

Could be mounted to swingout, but makes cooler/ camp gear more difficult to access.

Need to redo the tire gate since it was really designed before I thought I was going LT, and as sturdy as it is, it's still flimsy and sketchy with the full size spare out back. I know this means ditching the fold down feature of it, but that's the sketchiest part and I'll figure out another way to haul the bike.

I say go with whatever option will allow you the most stowage for gear. How often are you going to need to get to the spare? Of course you will need it when the bed is full, and it is dark, and raining.

Edit: You have no clue what rains is. :)

Northern AZ, we get feet of snow at a time in the winter (though not this winter) and monsoon rains in the summer. I understand what happens when Mother Nature hits. But agreed, I'll get it tucked away nice thinking I'll never need it and then my first fully packed trip I will lol. Someone in the LT thread suggested a hidden hatch and putting it back under the bed in something like this.
    IMG_2329.jpg IMG_2330.jpg
Gonna be a lot of work but it would be super clean to get a full size spare into a storage space like this

Wow, just saw your build and I must say I'm impressed! Love the color and your truck has come a long way from stock.

Where did you find that storage tray picture where the stock spare tire goes? That's a sweet setup

What if you made a short rise bed rack. I got no pics, just something I thought up while looking at your pics and the dilemma. I'll try to explain...

If it wouldn't be too much work you could run a couple pieces of steel between your rear towers. Then fab up another piece closer to the rear of the bed. Have both (all 3) pieces run the width of the bed, but only long enough to fit the tire on. Have them sit just a bit higher then the bed rails, this way you could mount your tire on top of it and maybe have room on one of the sides for an air tank? pelican box? ect? This way if would be accessible, (if needed) up & out of the way for big boss overland trips/gear, and I think it would look pretty good (which, lets be honest, is what we are shooting for).

Just some quick thoughts while I'm killing time sitting at work.

Thanks, but ultimately I'll be building something like that to hold a rtt, if we eventually decide to go that route that is. We'll see how much camping we end up doing this year if we feel it would be beneficial to get one. So that option is out, but thanks for the input.

Went with mounting the tire here.

Spare mounted, hinged in the front with quick pins in the rear (still waiting for the second one to be delivered)
Room for camping tote and cooler behind tire and lots of room under it for chairs and any other gear

Gonna throw some rubber under the rear mounting point to isolate it some from vibrations and hopefully it holds solid. Just some finishing work left and then paint before getting going on the new tailgate/ swingout.

Spare mount is done. Working on the new tailgate now. Need to move the license plate up into it. Needs a little bit of grinding and then paint for now. Much simpler design. Gonna add a fold down table sooner than later, and this has plenty of room to add mounts for accessories if I choose so. Quick pin to swing out. Locks at 90* and can open to around 135* if needed
