You see, I thought the DD mod was going to be great because I'll take it easy on the truck. Now every morning when I see my truck I think about all of the mods I can do now that I don't have to cram working on it in a single weekend lol

I can't wait to see the Black Betty inspired rollcage

That style roll cage is out. Once I went LT, the speeds I'm doing off-road I really need an internal cage to be safe.

Something like that. I plan on retaining the factory headliner and as much interior as possible. Hopefully start in the spring.

Just read your whole build. Super sweet truck! some definite goals in here. Wondering where you found this? any more details on it? I've been considering something similar... Thanks!

Well today's original game plan was to solid mount and gusset the lowers since I'm tired of alignment going out.

Checked the alignment before starting since my steering wheel got donked crooked after my last rip through the forest. Castor and camber are spot on, so apparently it's just toe that I keep fucking up. I mean I do have the tc cam tab gussets and after my last alignment I tacked the cams in place so I'm glad they are doing their job finally.

So new game plan is to just gusset everything up, throw some heavy tacks on the cams that will still allow me to remove the lowers and keep them in place and call it good. Just need to find someone with a lathe since my tie rod extensions are not allowing me anymore adjustment. Gonna take 1/2" off and wait for the rack to blow out and then upgrade.

See, but you're a professional. When I used to have access to a lathe it was chuck it up and let her rip.

lolol! oh trust me.. I cant separate work from personal projects. just yesterday I needed to drill a 3/8" hole in each of my LCAs.. and one of the older guys at work was like "just indicate the holes, find center" blah blah.. the whole time I was just thinking... "I'm just gonna vice it.. eyeball center.. mark it with my sharpie.. and go to town". lol

and they turned out great. lol

Yeah those came out great. The shop I used to work at had an ancient lathe and ghetto drill press. We made parts few and far between which is where I learned my machining skills, but at home, a vice, lots of measurements and a hopefully steady hand is all I have. Love to get a mini lathe, mill, and drill press, but don't have the room or cash now. Some day

Just a simple hole. But yeah I agree. Would love to get a small arsenal at home as well. Most of my personal work is all done by the seat of my pants. It works for me .. no one else to please. Function over form. Just get the job done. Etc.

I'd have nowhere to put them if I had them. Goal is to hopefully buy the hous I'm in from my parents in about 5 yrs, then hopefully build a 40x60 shop within 5yrs of that.
