@snowsk8air2 Love the taco. How's the engine been holding up with sc assuming you got a lot of miles on the truck and problems with the sc? How's the suspension holding up with all the harsh snow and crap that gets up there?

Truck got the sc with 17 miles on it straight from the dealer. I’ve got about 135k miles on it now. Had no issues with the sc, motor, or trans. Changed trans oil at 95k, sc snout oil at about 100k, spark plugs every 60k and engine oil every 3500 or so. No issues and still runs strong.

Suspension has held up pretty well with the winters. They did just recently start using salt up here 2 winters ago which I am not happy about. Little bit of wear and tear on the shock body coatings but nothing too bad given what it goes through. Probably last another few years before I’d have to consider re-coating or playing the shock bodies

Cool. Ya, I got a high mile 2nd gen wanting to actually have some power but don't know if the old 2005 engine can take it. For the suspension, I live in up MT and was told to go with ADS, even though I big fan of fox.

Fox, king, or ads will all be great quality shocks. I am a fan of ads and would have gone with them if I had known about them back when I bought my shocks. Since then I’ve had a chance to hang out with some of the guys there as they are local to AZ and have been up in my area a few times. Great guys, and great products.

As for you having an older 2005, that’s tough. I would highly recommend looking at the DMZ motor mount gussets as those were prone to failure on 2005-2007 trucks. And you can always have a good mechanic run a compression and leak down test on the motor to give some sort of indication of the shape it’s in before deciding to add some boost

Way too much lacking of beers for these types of late night shenanigans. But it’s finally time to get 4wd back. Going with 5.29’s, REM polishing and cryo treating the ring and pinion and a Eaton e locker. Also having the little axle and stub shaft from the ADD cryo treated. We’ll see how long it lasts haha.

Nope all that cleared. Drug the pumpkin on a few diff grabbers throughout the trail but never the ds. Glad the anti wrap bar sort of acts like a guard for the ds. And glad I added a piece of 1/4” on the bottom of the diff as a “skid”

    Stock-ish
Are your rear leafs outboarded at all or are they still stock width? Need to get rid of my stock shackle hangers asap and going to switch up to a setup like yours with the shackle mounted mid way on the frame. Thanks

Ryan can go into further explanation of his setup, but the short answer is yes. Was originally DMZ I believe.

What he said. The frames on these trucks dove tail some after the cab. So the front leaf hanger has the leafs sort of straddling the outer edge of the frame but the rear is completely outboard of the frame.
