Glad you’re okay. Can relate as my family and I were in somewhat similar incident. Took a hit from a 90’s model suburban in our 4Runner, spun us sideways, and rolled. We all walked away unharmed. Sold on the safety of these Toyota’s now.

    Glad your safe OP!

It suppose to work from speeds from above 8mph up to 110ish mph I believe. It saved me from nearly rear ending traffic as I was stupidly paying attention at a scene unfolding in oncoming traffic. Well when I staring at the drama unfold, the car in front me stared too and slammed his brakes while I was turned to the side. My Truck slammed the brakes at like 65mph for me until it felt me get on the brakes and then released control to me. Scary but comforting knowing it was paying attention and worked as it was designed. The adapt cruise control utilizes the tech really well and makes road trips a breeze. Hoping the truck never has to spot me again, but I’m so grateful for when it did.

That adaptive cruise control adjusts itself to traffic slowing down and speeding up. You might be right on the automatic braking as I see consumer complaints on the Prius just locking them up at 50 mph on clear days with no other vehicles in front.

The TSS works from 7 to 110 mph per the Toyota website. It will apply the brakes if you don't.

Absolutely true. What's the saying? "Walk away from the accident today. Feel the accident tomorrow"

My adaptive cruise saved me this weekend at 80 MPH. Driving through Montana, I was changing lanes, all the sudden it starts beeping and applying the brakes. I looked up, there was a giant barrel sitting in the middle of the freeway. Honestly, had it not made the noise bringing my eyes attention forward and having it hit the brakes for me, I would have nailed it. I'm certain it saved an accident. It didn't have a chance to to stop me completely because it allowed me to swerve out of the way. Had I continued on the path of 80, I would have hit it no question. I was changing lanes and looking over my shoulder.

For every 4x4 TRD OR that's totaled, does the value increase for the rest of us? lol

I guess his next Tacoma should be the TRD Sport with the stiffer suspension...less "comfy"

I'm glad you made out alright Nick. Are there going to be any "lightly used" Tacoma parts for sale soon?
