Toyota is selling four times more Tacomas. Hardly ever see a Ranger around here. Lots of full size Fords though.

I think there are a lot of people waiting to buy the 2020's, those numbers are going to continue going up.

What is really pathetic Ridgeline sold only about 66 trucks in each state last month.
Or 426 in each state for the whole year.
They cannot survive with sales numbers like that imo.

As a content 2nd gen owner, I'm actually hoping to see big sales numbers from everyone else in the midsize truck category. I'm hoping that when I'm ready for a new Tacoma in 10 years, there might be enough competition pushing Toyota to build a better truck (instead of just warming over a platform that originated in 2005).

I find it hilarious how much back patting goes on around here about Tacoma sales numbers.

got a 2nd and 3rd gen, they do feel like 2 totally different trucks. 2nd gen feels like a solid, steady machine and the third is the hyperactive child. mon-fri; 2nd gen. weekends 3rd gen for fun

I take that as 2nd is boring. I had a 2nd and have more fun in the 3rd. It's just as solid built if not better with high strength steel in key areas and once its moving it runs circles around the bogged down 2nd. Plus interior doesn't look like the Flinstones.

The Tacoma has been the best selling Mid-Sized Truck since around 2004 or 2005.

It's amazing how different they are. Living in the Sierras and having to tackle a 10% grade, 700 ' climb home every day, the 2nd gen never feels like it has to try as hard as the 3rd gen. But when you get on it, yes, 3rd gen is def more perky

Cafe, epa, and carb (even if you don't live in ca) will only get stricter which means hybrid or electric motors will be most likely by then

I know it's blasphemy, but if the Tesla truck is everything they say its gonna be, I might consider selling my 2nd gen for one. My 2nd gen was made here in Cali, and if the Tesla came outta the same plant, I would be cool w/ that.
