That sucks that it happened to you man! I guess sometimes we get to carried away with checking out all the other things that we forget to check out the simple things!

Did you not test drive it and look at the speedometer, or look at the odometer just to make sure it had the correct miles, or kilometers?

Not trying to be a dick cause obviously you didnt look, but I'm sorry to hear about your lose. And it sad to know that there are people out there right now who would do this thousands of them!

    Good Luck

Even if the ad was a typo, if he put km and it was miles, the ad is false advertisement and if Canada's laws are like the US you should have a case. It doesn't matter that it was online. You should talk to the seller and tell him to give you a partial refund and if not then talk to a lawyer and sue him.

These cases help in establishing jurisdiction online, hope they help.

Somewhere in all that add it probably states that this information believed to be true but not guaranteed. Take it to a attorney and see what comes of it.

Well the truck is now mine and there isn't much I can do. I just hope it lasts as long as I thought in the beginning. On paper, yeah I got burned on the price, but if the truck lasts and doesn't break, then I really didn't get burned did I? Crappy way to join the toyota nation...

Sorry to hear that man, once a friend of mine wanted to buy a house, he made on offer on it and put down $3500.00. Next day he had second toughs and said: bingo! I'll get my money back. The flier states: the house has fireplace, and there was none. Of course the seller didn't want to give him any money back, and he went to court.
The judge said: didn't you see the house? or you bought the house based on the description on the flier? And dismiss his case.
    take care

    Sorry about your situation.
Just thought I would point out that regardless of how the issue is resolved, the KBB values are notoriously low for these trucks, so don't use that as an accurate measure of the truck's value. I've been told NADA is better.

Well look at it this way ... 149k miles on a Tacoma is nothing. Flush all the fluids, and take care of her, and you should see another 149k miles. And heck, if it's in great shape then maybe it is worth that. Down here in Colorado, used Tacomas regularly sell for far beyond Kelly BB simply because good clean Tacomas that haven't been beaten to death are in demand. Post PICS when you get them. Let's see that beautiful bad truck!

I went to your link & said the ad was no longer available, don't really have any input for you other than "Yeah, it sucks" not sure how things are handled in Canada in regards to this, but even here in U.S. the laws & responsibilities of private sellers/owners & dealerships vary from state to state.....

Dude I know. I've come to grips with the situation. I was telling my old man, maybe it is worth the money anyways, if it lasts as long as everyone elses it'll be fine. And apparently it's in pretty mint shape. This is the only photos I have of her so far.

How things are handled in Canada? You have a back out clause. But it would have to be a Dealer sale. And it's short so check fast.

The clue is the speedo only goes to 120.
