Haters gonna hate

 

I’ve never had anyone walk-up and talk to me about my Taco but have had people come-up and talk if I’m on a motorcycle or in either of my VW’s.

OP I’m also in So.Cal and there are a LOT of stock and modified Taco’s seemingly everywhere here! Sad that it seems like my stock Taco see’s more time off-road then a lot of the modified ones I see LOL!

 

I do not go out of my way, but if I see a nice vehicle and the owner next to it, I will throw a compliment. If I see nice boobies , I get smacked in the head from wifey

 

Only time someone has come up to me to compliment my truck was at the Toyota service center. Had both employees and other customers.

As a biker I get where the comment came from and it ain't necessarily 'hate' - more like a back-handed compliment while maintaining the biker persona.

No shame in that! Mine has been on a fair mix of moderate, easy and a couple of hard/technical trails in Big Bear. It’s truly amazing what these trucks are capable in stock form.

Yes, same here. When I took my truck in after I had the interior redone in faux leather, the service guy I was talking to, called all the other service guys over, and they were oohing and ahhing, taking pics, and several took videos! I was smiling from ear to ear! Thank goodness this was before we had to wear masks, so they could see my big smile!

 

Thanks, about the wood dash kit! That has been actually, a somewhat work in progress, as I have actually removed a couple of the panels that I installed initially. Someone at some time, pointed out that some of them didn't look like they belonged there, and after looking again, I had to agree. But most of the wood panels are still in, as you can see by the pics I attached here. Those I removed were on the sides of the interior door arm rests, and on the sides of the dashboard. About 90% though, still remains!

I don't recall anyone coming up to me to talk about my Taco. But I frequently get folks wanting to take a closer peak at my FJ Cruiser.

 

I don't like talking to people so I avoid it, and if they pull up next to me at a light I don't look over. Its even worse in my classic car, when people try to get me to roll my window down. I don't
