    Heh... heh...

First things first AWorthyOpponent... Had to take it camping... Then pics.

Since I also consider myself a man of substance (on occasion), I thought I should gather some observations and technical information for all the other Taco owners out there who are considering buying a larger travel trailer.

First of all, the new trailer kicks the crap out of the pop-up on the campground.

Secondly, the sway control and equalizer system are awesome.

Third... I am very proud of my Taco.

It actually towed the beast with no real problems... Except, of course, for a significant loss in power... oh, and atrocious fuel efficiency.

I live in an area full of steep hills and high winds, and although the truck is at its limit as far as payload and towing capability; they did have an effect, but nothing that would put others (or myself) in danger.

That being said... I will not be taking this rig on the interstate or going much over 65 mph anywhere else.

There is definite strain on the engine and transmission and I see why so many recommend transmission cooling systems, air bags, bigger trucks, etc.

I will add the air bags to my rear suspension at some point, but in reality; this rig tows nicer than the pop-up we traded in (which was only really about 1000 lbs lighter dry) and the sway control/leveler is really cool.

Thanks again for all your help everyone... And every time the "little red Taco" finds its engine grunting out "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can" at 5500 RPMs up a 6% grade... I'll think of all you fine folks.

Again, the trailer is 26ft (29.25 feet overall), 4600 lbs dry, 5600 lbs ready to camp, tounge weight between 470 and 500 lbs... The truck has a V6, factory tow package, aftermarket brake controller, and is also equipped with a sway control/leveler hitch system.

    Long live the Taco.

    Pete :D

Nice trailer. What brand of sway control/leveler hitch system do you use?
