Taco wave

Well....Ive been driving my taco for a while, I noticed everywhere I look I see other really nice tacos, so I just started doing a little what's up kinda wave to the other taco drivers, you know kinda like the bikers do the Peace sign...wonder what yall think. Should this be a thing? Or has it already been a thing?

 

I heard it was a thing on some other threads on here. And I got a few waves from jeeps and other tacos, but I also get waves from Chevys and fords too. I guess i just live in a friendly town.

 

Lol sounds like a really friendly town. Some old army vet told me he liked the color,That's about all I got.

 

Tacoma owners do not wave at eachother here. And if i waved at every tacoma here, my arm would fall off.

If i see a modded taco ill give them a wave.

 

I usually do one of these hand gestures if I see a nice taco

 

Wha...what are you doing with those latex gloves? You are going to at least use lube, right? right?

 

I always try to "taco wave" if I see other modded taco's.

 

Same thing around here....a bunch of the modded/lifted trucks wave pretty regular.....most of them are driving Chevys & Fords.

 

If we do start an official wave, then my vote goes to the "shocker" two in the pink, one in the stink!

Nobody around here waves in their Tacoma. It sucks. I gaze at every Tacoma hoping to exchange waves or nods but it very very rarely happens.

Although there is an old man that lives near me in a green bone stock Tacoma that has flashed his lights on me twice, so at least there's him, and me.. That's about it.

 

Harley's have been around for over a 100 years, Jeeps (All Wrangler styles) since the 40's, 'Vettes since '53 - Tacoma's only since '94 - a relatively current marque in terms of historical significance (or insignificance). The likely reason why most of us only get a middle digit finger salute is the fact that "it's still just a truck", not linked to any "enthusiasts" relationship to the "make and model". Give it another 30 or so years. Most Tacoma owners don't see their trucks the way TW readers do, and didn't buy them for the same reason. (When you buy a Harley, a 'Vette or a Jeep, and I've had all three, you do so knowing you are part of a "fraternity" of owners, of the brand). Not so when buying a Tacoma - but give it time - maybe.

 

I use my fathers vette all the time, and every, and I mean EVERY vette owner waves.

I noticed a lot of the tacomas here are older guys that dont look anywhere but straight ahead. You can forget about it with them. I'm sure the heavily modded/obvious enthusiasts would wave, though. I've never tried.
