    all tore up already
Cool truck. Wonder why they didnt put more obvious torque check marks on your skid though?:anonymous:

Any plans for suspension? Im sure the winch and bumper will negate some of the lean ya got there, id imagine that cap and tent are quite hefty

Thanks. Someday, but still waiting to get the components on and kitted out, then I may play with the suspension.

LOL. My wallet is hurting for sure, but I've been wanting to do this for a few years.

That tent is super cool! I really like those, but I wonder something about them, and I'm not trying to be a smartass here.... what advantage does that have over just pitching a regular tent on the ground next to the truck? I don't know where you camp with that, are you trying to keep away from snakes or other wildlife, or maybe to get up and off the cold ground?

Should look into a full dakar pack for the rear to help with all that added weight and further weight you plan to add. But love the build!

At least for me, it's about ease of setup and freedom. If I can park, I can camp. Also, it takes like 3 minutes to setup camp. RTT's are great, but the Habitat is incredible for ease of use. Also RTTs and habitats have a mattress built in. One less thing to deflate, roll and stow. I also am a fan of being able to stand in my bed out of the rain and the wind. Nothing wrong with a ground tent, but I like to do long road trips for 2-3 weeks and setting up camp with a tent every night gets to be a pain. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback. When it comes time to redo the suspension, I'll certainly review it.

Oh I see. Sounds good, I agree that having the mattress built in must be quite handy!. I'm not much of a camper, when my friends and I camp it's at a campground somewhere, and usually for only 3 or 4 days. Camping isn't the main goal, we just find it's much cheaper than hotel rooms when we drive up into the mountains to mountainbike. So we'll set up camp, then need to use our cars again each day to get our bikes to the trails. I guess if the RTT you have breaks down that easily, that wouldn't really be an issue either way.

It looks super trick too, and not messing with tent poles must be nice. You mentioned standing up in it; is the part over the bed floorless so you can stand on the bed floor? Do you have any interior pics? I'm intrigued now, haha.

Very nice! Love the setup. How much does the truck weigh in at with just you at the wheel?

It's all about getting out there and doing what you love. The part over the bed has removable floor panels. I'll be taking pics of the interior soon to better show what I'm talking about. I couldn't be happier with Adventure Trailers and the product they produce. I certainly wasn't the easiest customer, but they treated me with the utmost professionalism and helped me through the process step by step. I'm used to Amazon prime, so this whole process certainly tested my patience, but I couldn't be happier with the result. I'll get interior pics up within the next week. I have some plans to better customize the interior over the next year. There are plenty of pics on the habitat thread if you're interested in looking at other configurations.

The topper only adds ~350. I'll run it across the truck scale at work sometime, but I'm a big dude.

Does anyone have any opinions on an add a leaf for the rear? Which manufacturer? 2-3" or so?

Thanks. The truck is mine, the house is my parents when I was visiting last. They can fit 7 cars under roof, though they squeeze 8 by going 3 across towards the back. My stepdad has a bunch of classic chevys and helps me with a bunch of my mods when I need an extra hand.
