Like I said before...made or assembled in Mexico, US,Canada doesn't guarantee quality...unfortunately. loose spark plugs, low on essential fluids and who knows what else we will see in time...

Honda’s newest auto plant, located in Mexico has the most automation when compare to all its counterparts on this side of the border. Excellent quality takes years of experience in manufacturing to get things right, what country where the factory resides is irrelevant to the quality of its product.

With that said, I like to see manufacturers stay in my state of Texas

I'd bet Toyotas made in Texas are made by US citizens.

My July 22, 2020 purchased TRD Off-road was assembled/ made in Mexico. I admit, that I was disappointed to find out they were not made by American workers. I say this, because obviously meant Americans lost jobs when Toyota outsourced.

With NAFTA, we will reap the benefits either side of the border. The real competition is across the Pacific Ocean....

The Baja plant didn't take American jobs. It supplemented the NUMMI plant in California which was at max production on Tacomas in the early 2000s. And when GM pulled out of NUMMI in 2009 that effectively killed the plant. Toyota took all that production and moved it to Texas in the then new Tundra plant.

Baja has been producing Tacomas longer than any of the plants...since 2004. They have the most experience.

And the new Mexico plant will not take any American jobs either. It was necessary so Toyota could free up production capacity in Texas for the new Tundra and new Sequoia (moving from Indiana) which will both be built there together.

In turn, this frees up production capacity for the Indiana plant to produce more Highlanders. This move will actually create some new jobs.

Toyota also has a new joint venture plant with Mazda which should be on line in another year or so. This will create hundreds job in Huntsville Alabama.

Just bought a 2020 Tacoma SR5, came off the Tx line in July. Wish they would keep production in Tx.

It’s weird that so many people are arguing over where their Tacoma is built.
If you think about it we should all be upset that they aren’t built in Japan.

So you think job creation in Mexico was better than job creation in the USA?

Doesn't really matter in the end. Toyota is a Japanese company. They can produce vehicles wherever they want. But they employee thousands of Americans through several manufacturing plants and dealer networks.

Try saying that about these flat screens when they first came out manufactured in korea then later went to mexico and china. The chinese and mexican ones were junk...especially mexico. I was sent to their plants to straighten them out. It was hard to beat the quality of sony from japan till they went to china and malaysia.

    Wildy racist for no reason...

Funny how everybody is obsessed with quality of "American made" while the whole US auto industry collapsed except for few brands precisely because the quality of car we made here in the US were lower than European cars, while costed more than the Japanese cars. US cars were never considered high quality or value anywhere except here.
